HELP: i need tattoo ideas ...?

I wana get a tattoo. preferably on my arm , shoulder, or back. im just having a hard time figuring out exactly what I want. i've been through a lot in my life so ill give you guys some key words in a timeline order to help create a image.
neglect, heartbreak, rebelion, miscarriage, disaster, nightmares, drugs, soul search, religion (christianity) & faith, self worth, false love, maturity, strength, independence.

idk if it helps much.. maybe someone can give me an image with meaning or a saying. im really into metaphoric pictures. really fancy & sophisticated drawings go well with my personality & body. no "dark" and/or negative images. though im open minded to anything else. hopefully this helps you to help me (:

i have a friend who has a compase rose tattoo like that on her hip... it looks pretty good there.
i also think it would look good on the top of the shoulder, or on the back of the neck

Before I catch a bunch of flack for this, there is actually a reason for it and not just because I'm a fan of the show. Its something me and my mom both love. In ways we can relate to the mother daughter duo- our relationship is just like theirs. We are best friends. If anyone has a tattoo idea to pay homage to our relationship that incoporates gilmore girls?
