I want to get a tattoo next week on my ribs. I am a girl and i was thinking of getting it of a phrase or quote. I like motivational, love, or just life quotes. Also im italian so something in italian would be good too. Any suggestions?

Answer
Decide on the tattoo you want before you go to the parlor. This is something that you will carry with you for the rest of your life and can not easily be erased.

Go to a website like http://www.theartoftattoo.net where they have thousands of designs on cd rom. I really thought that I knew what I wanted until the cd arrived.

I ended up choosing a different design instead of the original one that I was going to get. I am much happier with the art from the art of tattoo website.

cute, orignal tattoo ideas?

sayRUH

soo i have been researching tattoos and i decided that i want a little one BUT i want it in an original location....

i know a girl that got stars behind her ears and that was cute, but i want something less common.

i am open to and tattoo ideas(designs, locations, anything)

i want a cute, girly tattoo....thanks!

Answer
Girly designs:

Heart
Star
Cherries
Lips (like someone kissed you with lipstick on)
Ladybug
Butterfly
Fairy
Cupcake/Ice cream cone
A word or short phrase done in a nice font

Cute locations:

Inner wrist
Hip
Lower back
Ankle/Foot
Front of shoulder (like where your bra strap would go, right under your collar bone. I'm getting one there.)
Back of shoulder
Behind the ear
Back of the neck

It's really all up to you. Try to find a design that represents you or means something to you. Check out tattoojohnny.com and cherrycreekflash.com for inspiration, but try to give any designs you find there your own unique spin. Goooooood luck!!!

Ideas for a 14th birthday party?

None of my other friends have been having birthday parties for awhile, but I always have them because they're fun and my brithday is at the beginning of the school year so its a time to connect before it starts.

this year i'm going to have another sleepover w/my girlfriends and so far i know that we can have henna tattoos and either make cookies or make smores (and watch a movie)....

does anyone have any other ideas (i.e. certain movies, acitivites?)...this is probably going to be one of the last of the parties like these with my friends and i want to make it memorable, but i also dont want it to be like some little girl birthday party where they do pin the tail on the donkey and its all centered around princcesses and such (sorry if this post made it sound like that....describing this question is kinda hard!)

Answer
I love your question! Please don't make it the 'last of the parties like these" with your friends. I have a group of friends who have been together since we were 13, we're now in our mid 40's and still have parties like the one you're talking about, only now we have them over entire weekends in various places around the country since we've all gone our separate ways. We try to do this at least once a year (for the last 12 years) sometimes up to 3 times.

Here's a typical weekend....

Food - what ever we feel like eating, we make it together. You won't believe the strangeness that happens when a bunch of women get together in the kitchen! LOL Try pizzas on pre-made crusts, just have a lot of unusual stuff to put on them. Ever made a dessert pizza? YUM!

Games - yes, even in our 40s we play games. Try "Catch Phrase" it's so simple it's stupid and your face will hurt from all the laughing. Make up your own rules!

Spa night - Did you know that you can make your own 'salt scrub'? Use 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 4 tablespoons of salt. Easy and cheap and a great foot and hand scrub. We have a great time with spa night and end up with great looking nails the next day.

Our next weekend is coming up in October and we plan to make baskets. No, no one actually knows how to do this but we'll have fun even if they turn out funny looking.

Your henna idea is great, we did that one weekend, made designs all over each other's backs. Because they were hidden we could make the wildest designs and they faded in about 6 weeks.

The thing about a girls get-together is to get everyone laughing, they'll go away thinking it's the best party they've ever been to! ( You'll think so too.)

Ladies, why do you have tramp-stamps?

Armatage

I don't see them as much as I did back in college - but the trashiest thing on earth is to get a tramp stamp. I've seen really bad ones with pretentious phrases on them; do ladies truly think that this is classy? And the irony of being doggy-styled - I think I'm getting sick...

Answer
I don't necessarily think they're trashy. Personally, it definitely depends on what it is, and how you choose to display it. I got one about a month ago, and chose that specific place because it was a large enough area for the design I wanted (a decorative piece I partially designed commemorating my mother who died when I was little), and because it was somewhere that I could cover up. I got it for me, and not for anybody else.

No, I don't think they're "classy", but I don't think they're necessarily slutty. If I'm bending over, and my shirt or sweatshirt rides up and somebody sees the bottom of my tattoo, if they want to think I'm easy or an airhead, or whatever, I honestly don't really care. If they were to talk to me for even a few minutes, they would realize that I am much different than they had perceived. Anybody whose opinion matters to me already knows me, my personality, and the story behind my tattoo.

Don't get me wrong, there are way too many girls out there that do have non-descript, un-tasteful tattoos on their lower backs, but I hate the phrase "tramp stamp" (even though I have to admit, I do use it myself), and I challenge the stereotype.
