can someone help me with some tattoo price info?

B

i am trying to get a price range for a half sleeve tattoo. can someone post a picture of a half sleeve tattoo with a good bit of detail and let me know how much it cost?

Answer
Tattoos are expensive. save up around $1000 if you want a really good one that you wont regret and have to spend more money to get covered later.
One like this: http://tattoosforgirls.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/84-tattoos-for-girls-tattoos-designs-half-sleeve-tattoo.jpg costs $600-$800
One more detailed and colorful like this: http://www.ratemyink.com/images/ul/478/Japanese-Tiger-Half-sleeve-tattoo-47852.jpeg is $1000-$2000 and will take two or three months to complete.
When I turned 18 I got a 3 inch treble clef behind my ear. I spent $60 on it and it looks like a prison tat. Next week I'm getting it covered for about $500 maybe more.

Just save up your money and go to a good place and work with your tattooist to get started on your sleeve. Have fun :)

Opinions on Angel tattoos?

Kris Host

Hey, I'm currently planning on getting a full sleeve tattoo of angels and demons on my left arm. The angels and demons are going to be a gothic styled and the back ground looks a lot like volcanic rocks with cracks. Each demon will have dates or a single word that has meaning to me. Each angel will have a family members name on their arms, but the biggest angel on my bicep will be the only girl and will have my girlfriend and mom's birthday on her arm. Tell me what you think. Also this Is a very detailed tattoo, I'm expecting to pay $3,500 is this accurate sounding?

Answer
tattoo price varies depending on the studio you go to, whether or not you want colour or black and white, and whether or not the artist is designing the majority of the tattoo for you or if you're going in there with it already drawn up (even then they'll still have to tweak it) your best bet is to go to a few studios and discuss your idea with someone who works there and ask for an estimate. while you're there you can browse through their portfolios and get an idea of whether or not they're the artist you want (and whether or not the place is clean.)

you suck i

I need a cover up a tattoo and I don't know what in the world I am going to cover it up with, but I need it to look nice and clean, not trashy. Thank you very much! P.s. maybe there is a site where people rate tattoo artists that I don't know about?

Answer
I have favorite shops in Atlanta in ORDER

#1. Ink and Dagger. Russ Abbott is AMAZING. He is hard to get an appointment with, but AMAZING nonetheless. Jason Kelley there is also phenomenal. The shop is really nice too.

#2. Memorial Tattoo. Both Locations have outstanding tattooers This is where the BEST artists in Atlanta who don't own their own shops go because the commission rate is good for them. There are some great women working here too if that makes you more comfy.

My favs with memorial here are

Moreland Ave Location - All phenomenal artists. Dave Kruseman just went back here from Ink and Dagger, and he is SO good. <3 He did my back piece. I am not one of these girls who will go to any old tattooer. Not to mention he has great manners. A mega cover-up job for me. it is gorgeous!

Cabbagetown location- Sam Parker is a doll. He has actually done most of my tattoos. He has an art degree also.Wonderfully talented.

#3. Olde School Tattoo in Marietta (i know no one has heard of this one), Brett there is a fabulous young tattooer putting out some of the cleanest work I have ever seen. He obviously needs to update his online portfolio, but I can not recommend him enough. He did a clipper ship on my husbands chest for half of the price my guys would have, and it is FLAWLESS. Shop is nice.I wouldn't get tattooed by the owner though.

4. Liberty Tattoo on Ponce - Great Traditional stuff coming out of here. Chris who works here is a great tattooer. He did a virgin mary cover-up on my BFF. Looks great! Nice Shop!

Thats probably about it in the Atlanta area. A lot of people really like All or Nothing. I don't like the attitude that those people have though.

Nikki at Rocket Salon in Athens RETIRED! Boo. She was one of my best too.

What is the best advice you could possibly give someone before they get their tattoo?

Just anoth

Assuming they already have a GOOD idea that has a good reason behind it and that is no problem. I don't want anything about "Make sure you REALLY want it first! Make sure you can live with it forever, etc." Other than that, what is the best advice you can give someone before they get their tattoo?
Thanks

Answer
⢠Make sure your comfortable with your tattoo artist. This person is putting something on you that's going to be there forever you need to trust them.

⢠I always say make sure your not being taken advantage of money wise. Sure a cheap tattoo isn't good, but neither is one that's wayyy over priced.

⢠Make sure you know all of the risks.

⢠Make sure you have all the info you need like ointments to use, when to use them, how much you need to use. Same with soap's
just [ after care ] in general.

⢠Now although it's difficult to say you do need to make sure that you can have tattoo's in whatever profession you want to be in.

⢠If you have health issues make sure you consult your physician before getting a tattoo. Also make sure your artist is aware.

⢠Make sure you wear the correct clothes. Like if you know your getting on your shoulder or middle back. Wear a halter top girls or a tube top. If you are getting it on your ribs where a bathing suit top. This helps the artist as well.

⢠Make sure you just breathe. If your worried about pain don't be. It's not that bad, and is totally worth it.

Q. I want to get it done at Clair's but with the gun, I heard it can shatter your cartilage. So I need to get it done with a hollow needle. I really want it and I don't care if u say Ida to young . So how bad does it hurt with a hollow needle? And where can I get it done with a hollow needle for a 10 year old? And what is the price? Thanks! Please and see quick because I have to get it done soon.:/

Answer
Im 20. I got mine done when I was 16, and everything was fine, I ended up taking it out though. I just got it re pierced a few months ago with a gun and it was fine again.

The pain is just a pinch that last a second, and after you eat will be red and it will burn a little and feel weird. It will also be sore for a few days, so you cannot sleep on that side.

Since your 10 one of your parents will have to sign a form allowing you to get it, if not then you can't get it.

To get it done with a needle, you have to go to a piercing/tattoo shop.

The price usually depends on where you live, it ranges from $25-50.

How should I tell if the tattoo shop and artist is good enough?

I would like to get a tattoo for my birthday. It will be my first one. Is there anything I should look out for as far as a decent shop? Also..because I am a girl..I feel there are only few places tattoos would look nice if you are a girl and have a tattoo where is yours? I'd like some ideas of where to put a tattoo.

Answer
Very simple. Any reputable tattoo shops will have their artists portfolios out so that you can look at them. If they don't then they are probably not professional and you should avoid them. Also, look for cleanliness. A good shop is a clean shop. Also a good shop will not have you pay until the tattoo is finished. They will make sure that you have enough money, but not ask you to pay until the work is done. A good artist will always open the needles in front of you, assemble the tattoo gun in front of you, and wear gloves at all times!!. A good artist also is not afraid to tell you that a flash design looks better on paper than it does on skin. A good artist is also not afraid to talk you out of getting a design that you may regret later or be unsure about getting in the first place. The biggest thing to remember is that you pay for what you get. That goes for everything in life, tattoos are no different. So shop around and look at prices. If the price seems too cheap to believe, then you should probably not believe in the quality of it. REMEMBER, TATTOOS ARE FOREVER! As far as ideas and locations go, that's up to you and the artist. A tattoo should mean something, not be just a trendy thing, or something that a million other people have. The best advice I can give you in that area is get something kinda small (not a whole back piece or something large like that) for your first tattoo. Make sure you are able to handle the pain. Also maybe get it somewhere that it can be hidden in case you don't ever plan on getting any more. If you like getting tattoos as much as I did then you wont mind people seeing other ones you may get in the future. I made the concious decision to get my arms sleeved down. I thought about future jobs I might get and having to wear long sleeve shits forever. I took all that into consideration before I even got my first tattoo.Think long and hard about what you want to get!! Hope I could help! :-)
