Do girls suit tattoos? what do guys really think?

Q.

Answer
I have 3 tattoos, and i am working on designing my fourth (all of which i have placed strategically so that they can all be covered, yet, can be visible if i like...). All of my guy friends like them, and my boyfriend doesnt mind them either... Its part of what makes me unique. I am not saying that girls will be as attractive if they have full sleeves on both arms and various other tattoos... Some women can pull them off better than others... I think that if you get tattoos in moderation, you'll be fine. And, as far as the guys go... My boyfriend and my guy friends know to love me for who i am, not who they want me to be, so, my view is: if a guy doesnt like me just because i have tats, he can get lost, cause, they are a part of me, they represent my life, and thats who makes me who i am... Its not their body, so they shouldnt hate on me just because i have tattoos to remember things about who i am and how i got to be who i am...

How to draw like a tattoo artist?

Taavetti

I've played with tribal and Celtic designs for years and have gotten very good at them. I don't really care about drawing "regular art", I love tattoos and want to be able to draw all styles of them. I've got some Sailor Jerry tattoo books with designs in them, and various other books on drawing, but what is a good way for someone wanting to be a tattoo artist to learn to draw all the styles of tattoos? Even if I can't tattoo them, I'd like to be able to draw them up. Thanks for any help.
If I could get an answer from someone that isn't remedial that would be great.

Answer
things tattoo artists should be able to do (in my opinion)

lettering, pin up girls, tribal designs and vintage tattoos (roses and skulls etc). so i would work on a few of these things because its what most people come in and ask for. i think you should consider a career in tattooing, you seem very dedicated to its arts and its an enjoyable career.

Well i have to dress up as a character from any book that has a theme of magic or myth. yes there are characters like Harry potter, lord of the rings etc but i need a character that has an outfit which is easy to dress up as. please help! thank you so much in advance :)

Answer
If you're a boy, you can dress up as Percy Jackson. If you're a girl, get a Yankees baseball cap, pretend it's invisible, get yourself a natural tan and a California girl look, then go as Annabeth Chase. Or if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, you can dress as a couple and clank around in Greek armour >:)
Just kidding. Harry Potter is easy enough to impersonate, just get a pair of round glasses, draw a lightning scar on your forehead, wear black robes and scream "Expelliarmus!" at random people while waving a stick. Hermione Granger is pretty easy too, you just need the robes, a wig, a book, and intelligence. Oh, and a British accent. XD There's also the Twilight characters, but unless you want to be "pale white and ice cold"... and I doubt being covered with glitter is very convenient... How about the House of Night series? You can have fun drawing a crescent on your forehead and other various tattoo designs! Only if you're Zoey Redbird, you'd have to have a blue crescent that's filled out and extended, and if you're Stark or Stevie Rae, you'd need red ones. Hope this helps :)

Does anyone know what is this popular female tattooo (details inside)?

I am a foreigner male in SoCal and I noticed that many girls who wear white top has tattoo on their nape. Most of this girls I see wears a see through back so that anyone can see their tattoo. I am just wondering if it is just style or a gang symbol. I am not gay but I like the design. Can anyone shed light on me?

Answer
For a tattoo to be gang related, it depends on how it's been performed, what symbols, and various other things such as the amount of tattooing on the body. In California, it happens that there are tons of tattoo shops and tons of people who like to be tattooed. It seems the nape of the neck is just the spot these girls chose for their art, and it is just a style. I'm not sure exactly what the tattoos you saw were depicting, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_tattoo has some excellent information on gang related tattoos. I hope this helps you!
