I want to get a mural tattooed on my back that will represent the change from childhood to motherhood. I know that i want it to be gray scaled and that I don't want the usual faeries, butterfly's, frogs or flowers but im not very creative and the artist needs a general idea that i want to display any ideas?

Take images from your childhood, a picture of you on a swing or slide, in diapers, being held, sleeping, different ages, toys and books, and the things that you were interested in at different stages, objects to represent time periods and ages, silhouettes, etc. Look in scrapebooks, and bring any and all pictures, and written ideas to your artist and see what him/her comes up with.

I'm five foot ten inches tall and a size 16 in women's pants. I wish to get a tattoo covering about 85-90% of my back. If I were to lose weight, or have a child, how would that affect the tattoo? It will be a very detailed tattoo. Will it shrink if I lost some weight and will a pregnancy mess it up? Thanks for your time and help.

The only way it will shrink is if you shrink. You're a 16, not a big girl hun. When I think of tattoos becoming distorted by losing weight or gaining weight, I think of losing or gaining hundreds of pounds. Tattoos won't shrink, but, they can look funny in skin folds of large people who lose large amounts of weight. Don't worry about it, a size 16 isn't large. Having a child, that may affect your tattoo more than losing weight. When you have a baby you develop stretch marks, which can appear in the design of the tattoo, and cause the skin to look thinner, which makes the tattoo look like it has faded or lost color. Your back though, I wouldn't worry so much about the weight gain in the back as I would about the belly area. You'll be fine, go ahead and get the tattoo, and enjoy every second of it!!! That's a large commitment, and it will change your life! I say for the better, so for for it!!!

My first tattoo was on my wrist, so there was no hiding it. I got home that night, and my mother freaked out on me. Phoned my dad (they're divorced) and he freaked out on me even more. The next few days were tense, but they lightened up eventually. They told me I'll never get a decent job, or man and I'll always be and look like a loser. So I just decided to prove them wrong. I'm less than 2 years away from graduating with my law degree, work for the Police AND I'm engaged to the most amazing man ever. My tattoo collection have grown since then, my mom now actually wants to see it and tells everyone about it, my dad says I look like a girl on TV (some show he watches, but it's a compliment so I'm happy.) They 'll get over it. Tell them, let them be mad, and just prove them (and the rest of society) wrong by being awesome. :D good luck.

Well you can choose whatever you want. If piercings aren't your thing then hey that's your choice. If you don't like it then you don't like it. But it's also stupid as hell to assume all people with belly piercings are slutty. My best friend has a belly piercing and she's the furthest thing from slutty. Maybe get to know the person before you deny them for something as trivial as that.

What kind of attire should the guys in the wedding wear for a 50s wedding?

We have an outdoor wedding and it's 50s vintage inspired. All the guys work in a tattoo shop and are sleeved out so I'd like it to be a little edgy. I'm wondering what I should look into having them wear. My dress is tea length ivory and my shoes a t-strap black platform. All my girls have different style 50s inspired dresses w platform shoes if that help offer a better picture of what I am looking for.

50's wedding attire for guys would have been double breasted, particularily white dinner jacket with black tux pants or a navy suit or navy with black lapels.

the best look for what you are doing would be the white dinner jacket (double breasted if you can find them) and white shirts with black bow ties, and slicked back hair.

if you want them to be funny or edgy, have them take off the dinner jackets for the reception and let their shirts be sleeveless to show their tatts. or short sleeves, rolled up to the shoulder.

Tattoos for making broad shoulders look less broad?

I'm a girl, and I'm wanting to get a quote tattooed across my back. My only problem is that I feel I have broad shoulders for my size. I'm small, 5'2" and almost 100 lbs.
Would tattooing the quote from my left shoulder (on the back) and towards my right make my shoulders look less broad?
Or will tattooing the quote straight down my spine look better?

Any ideas?

i plan on getting my dads initials, birth, and death dates tattooed somewhere on me in a couple months when i turn eighteen. im a girl and i know acceptable tattoo places for girls are different from guys, but im not sure where to get this tattoo. Any Ideas? thanks.

Ask the tattooist to jot some ideas down for you ive got in loving memory of dear grandad type thing with both there birth dates n death dates intwined in a tribol/celtic design on base of my spine. The tattooist gave me 4 designs to choose from an i went for the most uniqe one lol but its ur body so its up to u where u av it done theres no right or wrong place iv a tattoo on my uper arm an one on my wrist that are small an look good so its ur choice hunni

what to get: well first off i'd stear clear from getting any names permanant on ur body.. but if ur just DEAD SET on getting something about ur bf on u then maybe go for a symbol or animal or something along those lines.
EX) my cuz wantd something of her bf on her and we talkd her out of doing a name (thank goodness) and she went with a bear claw and used the middle of the claw as a CD...because his nickname since childhood is bear and hes a dj. and they broke up!! (not saying that is going to happn 2u) and now she atleast has a beutiful design on her body rather than a name she'd be ashamed of!!!

and for your three kids...hmm...stars?? well evn though they are popular now...are they still going to b as popular in 10-15yrs?? butterflies?? overly popular...try to think of something original... what do ur kids like? what are their names? their fav flowers?? what about three different flowers intertwined at the stem?? just keep searching for something and try to make it original as possible...wouldnt u want something permanantly on ur body to be meaningful rather than popularly cute??

I ended up choosing a different design instead of the original one that I was going to get. I am much happier with the art from the art of tattoo website.

The one on your hand and the ones on your wrists are probably the problem.

The one on your foot can be covered up with shoes.
The one on your forearm can be covered up with a shirt (I had to do this for a previous job).
The one on the back of your neck can be covered up with hair.

When I worked at a restaurant/ food place, they didn't care about tattoos.
I work in construction, but in an office, but I don't think they care about the guys out there working that they have tattoos.

A while ago i discovered her work and i really liked it. She seemed to be a famous tattoo artist cause she had a sit and everything. I believe she was foreign, like from germany or something and her last name was quite foreign but i could have sworn her first name was Hannah. NOT HANNAH AITCHISON.
I know she was blond and she was famous for her vintage pin up looking girls that she designed. her work is seen a lot but for some reason i can't find her name. Here is some of her work.
