!!!!!!TATTOOS?!!!!!!!?

nirvana

what does a mark of a lip tattooed in a guys or girls neck mean
i been trying to figure that out but once you think about it guys have it more
often why is that?? please answer 10 points :)

Answer
it depends on the person cause everyone gets tattoos for deferent reasons. but it mostly means

-The lips on the neck means that The person is either mad at life, and in other situations it represents the 1967 band Get a money shot.

-The majority of Hispanic Gang members claimed the "Red Lips" were symbolizing their girlfriend's/Wife's last kiss before the Gang member goes away (is incarcerated).

However, two Gang members alleged the "Red Lips" represented the "Kiss of Death" which meant the gang member who has the tattoo has committed a murder.

Tattoo design...placing?

Q. I want to get a tattoo of a willow tree (not overly big) with "under the willow tree" in cursive underneath it but i dont know where to place it. I would have liked to put it on the back of my neck but there is already a tattoo there, and i have one on my foot. I dont want a huge one so on my back wont work...where would it look nice on a female??

Answer
dont get it on your arm, the only arm tattoos on girls that look good are actual full sleeves in my opinion, why not get it on your ribs or a hip or an ankle (inside or out). depends on how big you want it as well.

Cute Tattoo ideas :)?

Cheer1025

My mom and i are going to get tattoos soon and im not sure what im going to get yet. Im 17 and a cheerleader i lovee stArs and hearts i want to get something smallish but sexy probably on my hip. Any ideas? Pics would be great :)
Or possiy on my shoulder

Answer
First of all, keep in mind that even today in our "modern" "liberated" 21st century, people are still negatively judged for having tattoos. That's obvious here by the people that refer to a lower back tattoo, (those ones on your hips that show above your pants) as a "tramp stamp" . If you get a tattoo in a place where it is almost impossible to cover up, such as your wrist, people will always be able to see it and may judge you negatively by it. I know, people that love tatts will say in response to that "I don't care what people think". Well to that, I will say that you WILL care when that person that's judging you is someone who you are trying to get a job from! There are plenty of places that you will have trouble getting a job at if you have a tattoo that shows. And even with that aside, if this is your first tattoo, you may not like it being on your wrist later on in life. I would highly suggest NOT getting a wrist tattoo. If you just can't help yourself and really want one anyway, wait till you have several tattoos and are a bit more experienced with it to make that decision.

A belly tattoo will get stretched out of shape from if you ever experience pregnancy. Although a belly tattoo sounds sexy when you're still young and skinny, a tattoo on the belly can sometimes end up looking downright awful later on. So if you want one there, keep this in consideration and decide whether you can live with that risk or not.

If this is your first tattoo, I would HIGHLY suggest you get a small, simple one in a place that's easy to hide. A lot of girls like to get their first tattoo on their ankle or top of their foot somewhere. That is easy to cover up with socks, and if you wear open shoes where it shows, it usually doesn't look bad, and even looks cute and sexy there, small and quaint. Sometimes less is more.

Another place that's easy to hide is your back. I got my first tattoo on my back between my shoulder blades, it is just a simple black outline of a kitty cat, about the size of a small piece of fruit, like a lime or an apricot. Sometimes it shows if I wear a top that is lower in the back, like a cami, but it actually looks good that way because my tatt is simple and not really "flashy". Another benefit of getting it on your back is that if you keep having doubts about your tattoo after getting it, well then it's not "in your face" all the time cuz looking at your back is not something you do all that often, really. I have several on my back that have been there for years, and even today sometimes I'll be drying myself off from a shower and I'll catch a glimpse of them in the mirror and think "Oh yeah, that's right. I have tattoos there".

Dont get a tattoo just because it's trendy or popular. Do it for YOU, and pick a design that means something to YOU and you only. Artists always have lots of pictures to choose from, but what's better is if you draw or make your own, then it really is a unique one of a kind tattoo just for you. Pick something that's not likely to change over time, such as your zodiac symbol, a favorite animal or flower, or a religious symbol are some good ideas. Spend a LONG time thinking about it before you make a committment (6 months to a year is not too long. Even more is better, really). And the GOLDEN RULE of tattoos is NEVER EVER EVER tattoo someone else's name on you! The only exception to this is sometimes people tattoo their children's names on themselves.

Sorry this is so long, but you sounded like you needed some good advice and I hate to see young people make mistakes with tattoos just because they didn't know any better. My younger sister got a tattoo of someone's name in chinese characters on her wrist. Several years later she wasn't with that person anymore and had an artist cover it up with a drawing of her favorite animal, a lizard. But the old chinese characters still sortof show thru the new tattoo if you look at it carefully.

Good luck, I hope I've taught you something, and hope you pick out a really special tattoo that you'll enjoy all your life and never regret.

Tattoo Ideas? 21yr old girl?

Rosella M

I'm very picky . I want my tattoo to actually mean something so I won't regret it when I'm older (y)

I lost a lot of family members due to death .

The locations I was thinking of was behind my neck or on the inside of my wrist.
I was also thinking of putting my dogs name with a paw print on the inside of my right wrist because he loves to put his arm there. And I raised him on my own since he was 6 weeks old
I was also thinking of putting my mom's first letter of her name with wings behind my neck because she's my backbone and my angel

I don't I been thinking of tattoo for the longest time but I always had a million thoughts of what to get .

Answer
I am sorry for the losses that you have experienced.

You a couple of ideas that could be worked out, but need to be thought out a bit more.
First, here's a good article on how to get a tattoo without regret:
http://galadarling.com/article/how-to-get-a-great-tattoo-and-never-regret-it
As to your ideas:
The one for your dog on your wrist - you are young and will have many animal friends in your life, and your dog now is very important to you, but you will have others too that will be important to you. If you do this idea, then it will probably represent your dog now, and the future pets that you will have.
The paw print on your wrist, however, could look too dark and heavy, and you may be surprised at that because the concept is a good one. The way to check this out is to get a Sharpie marker and draw it on your wrist and wear it around for a while. Also, you may be thinking smaller than is needed to hold up well over time. The letters need to be no smaller than 1/2" tall or they will blur. You should also consider asking for a 'fine line' needle if you do writing.
Here's some examples of this idea:
http://creativefan.com/important/cf/2012/02/wrist-tattoos-for-women/paw-wrist-tattoos.jpg
http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/021/6/e/paw_print_tattoo_by_oomizuao-d4n3nxz.jpg
http://www.tattooimages.us/paw-print-tattoo-a-tattoo-is-innocent-as-a-tattoo-paw-print.html
As to your idea of your mother's initial with wings, you need to realize that some people will interpret this that she has died. But I like the idea. There are many different ways to do wings, and many ways to do letters. Take your time, and don't use images for reference that are 'tattoo' pictures. Instead find beautiful wings in photos and artwork.
Another idea that would be very pretty and feminine, would be to just have one feather:
http://www.scientificillustrator.com/art/bird/feather.jpg
http://www.scientificillustrator.com/art/bird/feather-small.jpg
with a beautiful font... Here's a font generator to help work that out:
http://tattoolettering.net/
This idea would look very nice on your shoulder blade.

Take your time, test out your ideas before you make them permanent, and think outside of your idea. ( I had this great wrist idea, but didn't realize that it would look like a watch from a distance until after I got the tattoo. I then added to my original design and turned it into a wrist bracelet, and it turned out great - but after much reworking of my idea).

luck~

....Wrist Tattoo Idea....?

luna

I'm not getting a tattoo because i'm only 14, but I was thinking that if I ever did, I would get get the word "Shanti", which means "inner peace" in Sanskrit, in a thin, cursive writing along my inner wrist and possibly a small black and white lotus flower. Do you think it would look good?
i agree actually, it might look nice somewhere on my ankle/foot instead

Answer
The word shanti with lotus on your wrist will actually look good but don't get it on your foot/ankle as it may seem disrespectful. I have another idea for a tattoo. Get a rose or a rose bud on the inner side of your ankle, it doesn't show outside but faces the other ankle instead. I saw this tattoo on a girl's ankle and i think it's quite discreet and sexy.

Getting a Tattoo between small breasts?

elizabeth

I have a small chest. Small enough that I've never worn a bra in my life (unless it was really cold). I'm fine with it. Hell, it's comfortable and they're both perky enough...I think they're cute. But I'm not super thin, though I am getting my weight under control. And I have no desire to ever get implants or wear something that's padded. So here's the thing, I'd like to get a tattoo between my breasts. Something elegant, like a Henna design. Something that's not too big and not colorful, Black and Grey would be nice. Now, I HAVE tattoos. 7 of them, to be precise. And they go from my back on to my arms, so this is a serious decision to make. On the chest, I can only hide it with makeup (and yes certain makeup does work, I use it on my arm tattoos successfully). If any of YOU out there have made the decision to put a tattoo on their chest or shoulder blades, I'd like your opinion. And if you hate the idea of getting a tattoo between the breasts, I'd like your opinion, too. Remember, I'm not a skinny-mini. I come from a long line of overweight people, though I have lost 50 pounds in the last 3 years. I still have 42 more pounds to go, though. If that matters, anyway. Thanks a bunch.

Answer
To tell you the truth I don't like the idea of you having a tattoo between your breasts. Personally, I never liked a girl with tattoos and most other guys don't like either.

But if you still want to get a tattoo there, I think the extra boob is a wonderful idea. Or you could get like a pistol for all those unsolicited touches. If you get an unsolicited touch, just flash him your boobs and tell him he is gonna get it right between the eyes.

Can you put a tattoo around a scar with scar tissue?

MIRACLE GI

I have a big scar on my lower back and alot of scar tissue. It looks like the middle of a butterfly and I want to have the outline of butterflu wings put on the side of it to make it look like a butterfly. Can you help me with sites that I can look at some butterfly tattoos?

Answer
Sure honey! Some tattoo artists are leary of working on scar tissue because of the overall quality but good ones incorporate it with a design to blend. I know a girl with scars all over her arms and they camoflauged them beautifully. A few women with breast cancer scars had it done and you do not even notice them. Good for you for turning something into a positive and including it with the art! ROCK ON SISTER!

i was thinking about getting a small cross on the back of my neck, but i also want something to symbolize my grandmother who passed away. her name was rose, yet she was very religious, that is why i was thinking of getting a cross. i want it to be a simple yet elegenat cross, with some design but not too much. i need helllp on what design i should get

Answer
I was thinking about a rosary, it sounds like Rose too, and it is really pretty.

What do you think about this tattoo? Honestly!?

Allison

I found a tattoo design I REALLY LOVE! But its quite large, and there is no meaning behind it. I have no reservations about it other than that its large! It's the pretty lace design that goes across the back. What do you think of this tattoo? Ladies, would you get it done if you were me? Men, would you be turned off if your girl got this particular tattoo? Thanks for the input!

http://rattatattoo.com/lace-tattoo-celebrate-the-femininity-of/a-girl-with-a-feminine-figure-shows-off-her-lace-tattoo-a-perfect-tattoo-choice-for-girls-and-women/

Answer
It's not something that tickles MY fancy but it wouldn't really put me off a girl either

If he size is and issue shorten it down and say go from the left side of the neck to just under the left arm pit or something

It doesn't matter who else like or doesn't like it its something you wear for the rest of your life!

And to the person who said it's stupid to get a tattoo with no meaning most people who are really into tattoos tend not to think every tattoo has to have a meaning and that's what believe too, gets only problem I have is when people get a tattoo with strong meaning and the person who gets it doesn't subscribe to what the tattoo means eg getting a cross tattoo and not being religious or getting music notes and not having music as a strong part of their lives (they don't play in a band or don't have a music related job)

Hope his helped remember it's YOUR tattoo and good luck :)

Upper arm tattoo ideas for girls plzzz help?

JeannaW

Answer
I have 5 pink lilies on the upper left arm of my body. The tattoo is rather large, but its beautiful nonetheless. You could get a favorite flower in a favorite color. Or tribal looks good there. A beautiful butterfly done in a rainbow of colors. A fairy, like an Amy Brown fairy. A storm cloud with a lightning bolt. Your favorite pet's portrait. A heart with a banner and a one word phrase in it like strength or love. A swallow. A pin-up girl. A gypsy face. A peacock feather. There's all kinds of tattoos you can get there. When you see the right idea, you will know it. Good luck to you and happy inking!

I need help with a tattoo design!!?

Brittney

My best friend passed away two years ago on friday from Cancer. I'm having a real hard time with her death and wanting to get a tattoo for some type of remembrance. I want the tattoo on the inside of my wrist but not sure what i should get. I really like the infinity symbol, feathers, hearts, and the birds flying away. Can someone please help me with figuring out what my tattoo should look like that I'm getting this Tuesday.

Answer
I would get something that symbolizes her, or your friendship. Personally, balloons floating away have always reminded me of loss, yet still are optimistic. You could do a cluster of balloons in black/grey, then have one balloon floating away from the bunch in her favorite color.
You could also have her name or "rip -her name" underneath, or even have her balloon be made out of words, so you could have the balloon made of "rip- her name" and some of other small cute, forever in my heart/etcetc.
If she had an animal she was obsessed with you could do that, or something along those lines.
I got a tattoo for my dad that's simply "RIP Daddy", and I love it, and will eventually add an old school rose to it I think.
I don't personally like the infinity symbol because a million teenage girls have started getting them, lol, but if it's what you want definitely go for it, and you could get her name written in it, or friends forever, etcetc.
If you're really indecisive don't feel bad about rescheduling the appt., you want to make sure youre 100% on what you want.
Love the meaning of your tattoo, I'm sure it'll be beautiful :)

which tattoo do you lik better?

and i would have it as it is in the pic
or
have "with hope" written on my side? thankss:)

Answer
LOL....None of the choices.

Native American symbol for friendship? Hogwash.....there is no such thing......but go ahead and get it if you prefer to be laughed at by every Native you come across.

The stars? Overdone and trashy. Almost as overdone as getting 'hope' written somewhere.

If you have to ask random people for advice on what to get, you aren't ready for a tattoo.....you are just getting one, just to get one. An image should speak to you....you should see it, envision it, and feel that you cannot live without it permanently etched into your skin.

i want to get a tattoo
im 16 nearly 17 and dont know what to get

i had some ideas like the words believe or a heart but i dont know
help =]
o and where should i put it?
im just seeing what your ideas are...not going to do everything

Answer
ok if your hot, i'd go for a pin-up but only if it means something, for example i'm planning on getting a gothy pin-up covered in tattoos because i love tattoos (and women) like nothing else ever, or if you like music (classical or an instrument, not listen to rock or something, a good one is music notes on your wrist... i find tattoos very attractive so if you've got a flat stomach, then get a lower stomach tattoo (example:http://www.anaitgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/asia-argento-4.jpg) but again only if you have a very flat somach and dont every want to get preggars, also if you are thin and attractive, a lower back is super sexy (the bigger the better in my opinion... if you want to go super girly, you could get a butterfly or lily pad on your foot (although i hear it hurts alot)
A few guidlines with placement... never ever tattoo on the nipples, vagina, butthole, or above the neck (unless your Kat Von D) otherwise, your lucky because tattoos look amazing anywhere else on girls

good luck

Tattoo Ideas, for a girl.?

ktm_x

I am looking to get a tattoo on the back of my neck or my upper back (in line with my shoulders) I'd like something quite girly and petite. Has anyone got any nive girly ideas I could get? I already have stars tattood on my foot so I don't want stars!! Thanks

Answer
I would get something that meant something to you, rather than something random that you just think is cute or sexy.

My friend went and got a tattoo a few years ago and one of her other friends went with her. Her friend asked the guy who was doing her tattoo (who was covered in tattoos, sleeves, etc) what they meant or stood for and he said something that has stuck with me: "Well, it's like my diary. Do I ask to read YOUR diary?"

But I would really suggest putting a lot of thought into it if you really want another tattoo, get something that will mean something to you so when someone asks about it, you'll have a story behind it other than "Oh someone gave me a suggestion of a swallow/angel wings on Yahoo! Answers and I thought it'd be cool." Especially when you're older and your kids ask, you can say "Well, honey, your greatgrandma's favorite flower was ____ and that's what it means, she meant a lot to me so I wanted something to remember her always." See what I'm saying?

But yeah, I'd watch like Miami Ink to get some ideas, really think about it and maybe draw something up (or have a friend or the tattoo artist do it) and go from there.

Tattoos on girls?

What do you think about girls with there sleeves done?or maybe tattooed to there elbow?
x)

Answer
Totally Awesome!

Why is it OK for a guy to have tattoos -- many tattoos -- anywhere on their body -- but it isn't OK for a girl?

My tattoos do NOT make me look trashy; I have a good education and I work in a professional environment. I am not the least bit concerned about how my tattoos will look when I am "old".

I have 27 tattoos, including a lower leg sleeve and I am now working on an arm sleeve. I never try to hide my tattoos for anybody or for any reason.

I do not care what other people think of me based on my appearance, especially my tattoos.

GIRLS and TATTOOS?

i need opinions from people....
whats your opinion of girls with tattoos?
for example one on lower and one on hip.

Answer
i have many tattoos. i started when i was 16 , and i am now 35. I work in an office , and i have tattoos that show, and some that dont, and i LOVE my tattoos , and i really dont care what other people think. I am also a mommy , and my girls LOVE when my hubby and i put the temorary tattoos on them. my tattoos dont make me who i am. i have a wonderful family, a good job, a nice home, the best of friends. all of my tattoos however are very feminine looking, but some are big. one on my leg goes from my ankle, to almost my knee, and goes some parts over my shin, and some pasrt around the back of my leg. and if i wear a skirt, it shows, and i dont care. you know what the difference is between people who are tattoed, and people wgo aren't ? people who are tattood dont care if you are.....

Tattoo Ideas: rib cage tattoo, below belly button, upper back?

jason g

hey guys, i'm 17 goin' on 18 years old and i want a tattoo but have no idea what to get. I want one goin' from about my upper right back stretching to the right of my belly button. I just don't know what it should say? :[ here are some of my interests: my girlfriend is seriously my life, i LOVE music to death, i'm crazy and do crazy shit, i love the beach, i'm God at beer pong (seriously), i work out everyday.. idkkkkk i just dont know what my tattoo should say?

Also, I am getting my nipple pierced in the near future b/c my girlfriend thinks it's real cute. I was wondering if anyone had had this done before and if so how is it?

Alright thanks!
JGriff

Answer
"Crazy and In love".....

dont put ur girlgriends name.... because even though u r "in love" right now... doesnt mean u will be forever...... but if u got "crazy and in Love".... then she can just think that it is about her!!! lol..... but truthfully think really hard about it..... that sounds like it is going to be a very large tattoo.... and there is going to be a lot of chair time... and possibly a lot of money invlved.... so i would think long and hard on what u put on ur body..... i have 6 tattoos right now... i thought about all of mine for a very long time.... and i definetly plan on getting more.....

and as far as the nipple ring... i personally kind of cringe when i see them... jsut because i am a girl..... and i think it would hurt.... but if it is something u want and ur girlfriend will like it.... then i say go for it.... at least u can take it out if u find out u dont like it.... or ur girlfriend doesnt think that it is "sexy" anymore!!!!! lol

good luck to u!!! â¥

What is your perception of a girl with a rib cage tattoo?

Naomi

I really love the idea of a rib cage tattoo but the only girl I know who has one 1) has it going down her crotch and 2) has a clit ring.
I want a short poem with maybe a small cluster of stars. I'm very conservative and I have 2 tattoos already that I basically forget about because I'm always covered up.
So, would a rib cage tattoo make me seem trashy? Do you think a guy would be turned off by this? (I know I shouldn't care, but I do :/)
When you think of a girl who has a rib cage tattoo what is your opinion on the type of person that girl is.
Thanks.

Answer
I have a tattoo on my rib cage and I love it! I don't think they seem trashy at all and are beautiful and a perfect way of expressing yourself! I got a quote with stars as well and I think its perfect! You wouldn't regret it...and it doesn't hurt as bad as everyone makes it seem!

What is it about tattooed men that some girls love?

the kangar

Obviously some girls like guys with tattoos and some do not. My question is for girls who like tattooed men. What is it about these men that you find attractive?? For example is it the art itself?? The fact that guys with tats can tolerate pain?? I've asked some of my friend's gf's and I can never get a straight answer and I'm curious.

Answer
it shows a mans individuality and it shows that hes strong and its sexy and i like it but i like tats in general as i have lots of em...it show how he is not conformed to societies standards and does what he wants it just has that bad boy persona feel that girls want and like...why do some guys like girls with tats? my fiance has lots of tats working on full sleeves....it like pretty things and tats are pretty they are an accessory for life and it is just nice to have and to see decorated bodies!

i want something masculine but shows i love this girl with her name banner type tattoo

Answer
Unless this girl is your daughter (yes its ok to love your daughter dont get the wrong idea anyone!) dont put her name on you - I can almost guarantee you will regret it at some point - maybe you wont be together forever - then what? Dont get me wrong Im into tattoos and piercings etc but you really have to think long and hard about this one - your children will be your children for the rest of your days no matter what happens in life but you cant say that about a girlfriend or wife - you might be sure of it but things happen

TATTOO IDEAS??? please?

cutiepie :

I want a tattoo that has to do with my sister and dad,
i was thinking 2 interlocking hearts or something but anyone have any ideas? i dont want writing and i dont want it big probably the size of my palm of my hand.
Im a girl so nothing manly lol

Answer
Depends on if you want it really detailed or not. If you do not the two hearts would be an cute idea. If you do want detail pick like their favorite flowers, or favorite things and find a way to interlock those two things. I wanted the star of david, my daughters birth flower, plus her name so I put the name and star inside the flower where the pollen is.

Heart/star tattoo? Wrist/foot? I DoNt KnOw!?!?!?

Q. I want to get a really small (1cm or less) tattoo on my foot of either a heart or star. I would get it either on the base of my middle/2nd toe or on the skin just above the small/4th toes. I've wanted this for about a year but have only just decided to go for it and get it done (i'm really really indecisive about every single thing I do). If I keep it small at least it wont be some big thing I regret in years to come. What do you think I should get done out of the things I've said above? I've done loads of research about tattoos and read that tattoos on the foot can fade more easily and can also stretch/distort out of shape. Is this as bad as it sounds? Another place I was thinking is on the inside of my wrist or somewhere on one of my hands. Again as it will be so small I dont think it would be a big problem to have it on my hand? What do you think about anything I've said?

Thanks.
Also I'm not doing this because its part of a trend or whatever, I want it because I think it will look good. I know hearts and stars are really generic but I know why and what I'm getting it done for so dont worry about telling me that everyone gets that stuff done. I could carry on thinking about getting it done but to be honest thats not gonna get me anywhere because I'll still be in exactly the same place but just a little bit older. I'm as sure as I get about anything at the moment so I think theres got to be a cut off point to thinking about stuff. As I said I'm an extremely indecisive. I've already asked the opinion of people I know but I just want t know what people who are removed from my situation think. So theres no need to tell me that I should think about it some more. BELIEVE ME I have. How small is the smallest I should go for it not to turn into a blob of nothingness?

Answer
Right, first of all in my opinion i prefer a star to a love heart, i also say either where you want it on your foot and on the wrist are both cool places to get it. I saw a video on youtube of a girl getting a star on her foot, it was so cute! I just like wrist tattoos, never saw a love heart or star on someones wrist.

As for the stretching and fading, every tattoo can stretch and fade, but less likely to stretch unless on your stomach or if you get growing stretch marks, every tattoo will fade at some point that's just a case of getting it touched up which isn't really a big problem.

Don't get it on your palm though and don't get it too small.

Also, for the girl that said it was very painful to get on your toe, don't listen to her. Everyones pain is different for one and the pain lasts a few minutes only and there is no other pain.

Lulcake, Rate my Tatt ideas?

Opheliac

list of tattoo idea and their meanings. pretty much all but one aren't in stone. ive been thinking for years. and ill be training in becoming a tattoo artist relatively soon.

1: a black undead koi fish a little above my heart. i want it to be crying blood and have the red kanji for love on its forhead, and off to the side (not on the fish) the kanji for perserverance.

the meaning for this comes from my father, he was adopted and his adoptive mother beat the shit out of him and stuffed religion down his throat. then thought "repenting" fixed their relationship. shes a very cruel woman. the koi fish being undead does represent my dad. koi are very durable. the bleeding eyes represent religion and the kanjis are for perservearing past it. and the love on its forhead meaning nobody really saw what was going on with her, but saw a "loving mother" i really love japanese culture too, it fits well.
im really solid on this one.

second is a lady ranicorn, on adventure time, wrapped arounnd my forearm...just at the wrist and ending on top of my hand eating a cupcake.
in the show nobody understands lady ranicorn because she speaks korean, and nobody really understands the amount of work she does, coloring the world. it really just represents me persuing my art career.

third is a realistic banana with wings below my belly button lol
basically because my full name is Ariana, my dad calls me banana or "flying banana" not what it sounds like. lol.

next is a tramp stamp of a cupcake.
every girl gets a tribal heart tramp stamp. why cant i get something equally as stupid? i like cupcakes. they like hearts. end of story.

i like them, but what do YOU thinks? :]

Answer
i love :D them all you are good at tattoo ideas il ask you for
a idea if i want one
my faves the banana -_-

Insight on picking a tattoo?(pictures)?

Ashley R

Ok so i've never been against tattoos, but have always said i would never get one unless it truely had meaning to mean... and it be small
Now i've decided i really want one
I know for sure i want here
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/aRRashley/ta.jpg
and i want it to be a small symbol
i found a kanji symbol which is said to mean heart, mind, spirit(which if i pick this one i will be sure that it really means that)
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/aRRashley/mindheartspirit.jpg
i love how it looks but im just not sure if it be too typical or strange because i have no asian background.
I'm a very down to earth girl, loving, kind, fun, goofy, all for peace...hah umm so i'm really trying to find something that represents me
so any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appericiated, thanks!

Answer
Getting kanji is dicey territory for a couple of reasons:

1) unless you personally know a native speaker who is fluent in written chinese or japanese, you can never be sure the kanji character is the one you want. not only can you not read it, but you also don't know whether it is simplified or traditional characters, what type of script it is and the consequences these things have on how others will see your tattoo. believe me, my ex-husband is Chinese/Taiwanese and we used to see awful and mistranslated Kanji all the time. It is everywhere!

2) if you have no asian background...well, it is obvious. Why not look into your own cultural background? Getting the italian, or greek or french word for whatever you are looking for would be a welcome change to kanji, and a lovely testament to whatever your background happens to be. You could ed up learning a bit about yourself as well!

My recommendation is to go to some tattoo studios and look through portfolios just to get ideas. Go to a bookstore and geek out on art books, graphic novels, symbology books, whatever inspires you. Brainstorm about people and things and books and poems that mean something to you.

Once you have some ideas, find an artist who is trustworthy, works in a clean environment with an autoclave system, and whose style you like, and schedule a consultation with that artist. Consults are always free. Tell him/her your ideas, show pictures, what ever inspires you, and together you'll be able to design a unique tattoo that will be perfect for you.

Good luck! (and believe me, the extra foot work is worth it =)

tattoo????????

sarah b

i am not yet old enough to get a tat but i like to think bout it befor i get it on the spur of the moment

well i would like to get the word luck, love, hope, life, or fun on my lower back i dont know which one yet

i would also like to get it in a graffiti style, i dont know what different kinds there is, so some pics would be nice, i also would like it to be green, blue, red, or black and white or a mixof some of those

is the graffiti a good idea?

Answer
Stay true to what you want. Don't let the opinions of others sway your decision. It's true, lots of people do refer to lower back tattoos as "tramp stamps" and I believe that it's because a lot of pretty girls have them, and when people are jealous they start name calling. Just get what you want.

As far as the design goes, tell the tattoo artist about your ideas and they should be able to come up with something you'll like. Research the artists in your town first and make sure you go to a good one.

And of course, wait until you're 18. I'm sure that's what you're planning to do anyway, but incase it's not I'll tell you the reason why I don't tattoo anyone under the age of 18 regardless of parental consent. You may still grow. If you grow, your tattoo won't look as good because it'll stretch. It's best to wait.

Good luck! I hope you find an artist who can give you the perfect piece!

lower back tattoo?

camarogurl

I want to get something with my dads name"Andy" he past away almost 3 yrs ago and i just turned 18 so i want to get a tattoo but im not sure what it should look like any ideas
i dont want kids so theres no problem there

Answer
I reckon if you want that tatt on your lower back you goddamn go and get it there girl! Dont let anyone tell you not to. Plus lower back tattoos are way hot (lol i think mine is too!). Basically you can decide whether you want something basic or all out or something in between. Do you want alot of detail? Do you want it big as in right across the entire lower back or just in the middle? Do you want colour or just have it entirely black? My advice would be to sit down with your tattooist and explain what you would like to have done. The tattooist is likely to have done a fair few similar tattooes over the years and would be able to give you a nice design. The good thing about working with them with your design is if you dont like anything they will change it for you no questions asked. This website here : tattoo.about.com/od/tattoosgeneralinfo/a/memorialtattoo.htm - 23k
Gives you some information on what to think about when getting a personalised memorial tattoo. So have a read of that before choosing what you want.

Lower stomach tattoo on guy?

Rob S

I want to get a tattoo on my lower stomach, kind of on the belt line area. I'm thinking of an old-school heart design, in honour of my fiancee - no names though. Do you think that would look good on a guy or would it be a turn-off?

Answer
I think that's a better spot for a girl to get a tattoo... for guys I'd suggest getting on on the upper back... That's my personal favorite...

Tattoo on lower stomach to hip?

emmmbabbby

I want a tattoo , of a shooting start on my stomach that leads to my hip , But its all colored, and looks like it's going to hurt , though i have a tattoo on my foot that didn't hurt nearly as much as i thought .But im a tiny girl , i weigh like 100 pounds , and my stomachs nothing . So , please telll me whats up ? & if anyone could tell me , how long this would take .

btw , imma make it orginal .

http://tattoodesignsideas.best-newmusic.com/shooting-star-tattoos-for-girls.html
copy & paste , and the first one .

Answer
Anything on your bone is going to hurt. I do not know exactly where you got it on your foot but the top of your foot hurts pretty bad but on the ankle is by far worse than the top of your foot. When the tattoo artist is on your hip bone it should hurt a bit but it seems as though from your other tattoo you have a high tolerance for pain so it might not be too bad.

If the tattoo you plan to do is around the size of that picture, I'd say 30 mins to an hour for an experiences artist.

taTTOO IDEAS...?

Yuki C

hey i want a tattoo and im a twin.. i want something to represent that and i would like some ideas.... im stuck

Answer
As for the twin thing, I'd stay away from a gemini theme. It's really cliche and there is a connection to astrology which should be avoided unless that's something important to you as well. Anything you like could be turned into a twin theme. Like flowers? Two of your favorite flowers maybe growing from one stem. Like science? Some sort of representation of identical strands of DNA. Into archaeology? A sun dial with two shadows that show the times of your birth and your twin's. Fraternal twins? Maybe a his and her portrait that is half and half or one portrait looking in a mirror and seeing the other face.

Get something that relates to you in a way that is personally meaningful. If you've recently developed a taste for something like snorkeling for example then you probably shouldn't use it as your motivation. If you've loved the ocean since you were a little girl and just graduated with a degree in marine biology then the odds are that it will have more meaning for you later in life.

Know the many meanings behind anything you get. An obvious bad example would be the swastika which predates Hitler and has ties to buddhism as well as other things, but probably isn't the best thing for a buddhist to get. Especially if your twin is Jewish.

If you have an attitude now that you don't care what anyone thinks and you don't want a job anywhere that would have a problem with your tattoo then remember that you may care one day when you can't get the job you want as a news anchor because you have "killer #1 of 2" tattooed on your face. I know of a church leader in the south that has to wear long sleeves in triple digit weather because he has vulgar tattoos that he thought were cool when he got them.

All that said, I don't want to discourage you from getting one. I think Kat Von D is hot with all of her tattoos and I still think my wife is hot without any. If you want a tattoo then that's great, but don't rush in your design choice just to get one sooner than later. Good luck.

Tattoo ideas for girls? help?

I have been look for a tattoo for my grandmother that passed a few years back. I want to get something with a dove but idk what writing I should put. And I've also been trying to find a small quote tattoo bit I just can't find the right words. My sister has "love conquers all" and that's something I'm looking for length wise any ideas?
Thank. :)

Answer
I think that sounds like a really good idea. Maybe you could go with the dove and instead of a quote you could put her birth date and death date.

I don't know how big or realistic you want the dove to look but here are some ideas;

opinions?

I really want to get a small tattoo either on the back of my neck or my wrist. Something classy, appropriate, and not a full sleeve or anything. Maybe shoulder blade. I need ideas! I would love quotes or something nice like that... any ideas? Here are a couple that I like...

http://24.media.tumblr.com/fa08ee82c733363c14fd95a27ce7a382/tumblr_mp9ulcVi7F1r4xyi4o1_500.jpg

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7h9qd2lg31qhltk3o1_500.jpg (except I would prob get on my shoulder blade and smaller!)

Answer
Both of those are adorable. Animal tattoos are great. Don't listen to what people say about your tattoos HAVING to mean something to you. If elephants are your favorite animal, get that inked! And if it's not, who cares? It's beautiful. You and your body give meaning to the tattoo, not the other way around.
If you go into a parlor, there will be lots of symbols and animals to look at in the portfolios. You can also look at different fonts and scripts if you do end up getting a quote.
Look in your favorite books or movies. Quotes have a tendency to look really really cheesy, so I wouldn't go for something like "follow your dreams". Quotes are where the meaning ACTUALLY needs to be significant, if you understand me.

but a bit smaller.
anyway, i don't want it too detailed as it is my first tattoo. but yeah, i really like this idea, obviously i would have someone design it for me so its a bit different, but what do you think about this on a slim,blonde,17 year old girl? (me, obviously:L) and how much roughly would it cost in the UK, and how long would it actually take, and would it hurt a lot being on the thigh? Thankss:)!
also would I look like a whore with it, I wouldnt show it off 24-7 just sayinggg like, if you saw someone with that would you think, wow, or, "sket."

Answer
Skanky. I think you would regret it.

All tattoos become ugly and repulsive if they are desecrating the living bodies of human beings. Your body is not a canvas for so-called art--it is the living shell that your spirit resides in. It is to be protected and cared for, not abused by the filthy hands of the tattoo predator injecting ink into your skin. Here is why you should avoid tattoos like the plague they are:
1) Tattoos are an urban blight. They offend most people who see them. They are ugly, like graffiti. Like graffiti, they lower the quality of the environment. Tattoos lower the quality of life, for everyone who has to see their ugliness.
2) The whole concept of tattooing is wrong--the way these hideous cartoons are inked into the flesh of people through bloodletting and pain, possibly resulting in infection and disease--if they are "art", they are a dark and evil âartâ.
3) Tattoos are closely linked to other forms of self harm, like cutting, piercing, drug use, incarceration, etc.; they are hand-in-glove with these destructive behaviors.
4) Evil people encourage our vulnerable children to get tattooed so they can make money off of them. They do not care that they are causing harm. And yet, these evil ones, these tattoo predators, with their cruel eyes and dark hearts, are even admired by their deceived victims. What a sick world we are in!
5) Young people are fooled into wanting tattoos by degenerate Hollywood and their degraded âmovie starsâ and musicians, and promoted by the prostitute mass media. Our deceived children think tattoos are cool and cutting edge, but over time, they wind up hating their tattoos. Far worse, they wind up hating themselves.
6) Weak parents and older people abandon their duties to lead their young even though they know better. They are so afraid of being disliked, so desperate to be âlikedâ that they say nothing against tattoo. Worse, some completely abandon their responsibility to provide sound guidance and even encourage the young ones to get tattooed.
7) How it hurts so see the deceived young one so angrily defensive about what will ruin and hurt them--their right to get tattooed.
8) The Lord of Hosts, creator of mankind, clearly commands against them. "Do not cut your bodies⦠or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORDâ Leviticus 19:28
9) As far as tattoos being âartâ, that is garbage. A tattoo is NOT "a work of art". The human body is not a canvas and the abusers and mutilators who desecrate it are not artists. Most of their so called "art" is little better than comic book drawings.
Young people, express yourself with your words and actions, not by inking graffiti onto your living flesh. Avoid this disastrous mistake that will damage your spirit and ruin your life. Like drinking, and taking drugs, and practicing self harm, getting tattooed will ruin you, not right away, but over time. There are many predators and enablers here, who encourage young people to abandon decency and live self indulgent and destructive lives. Know there is no such thing as a tattoo "artist"--there are only tattoo predators who seek to hurt you and take your money. The tattoo industry is full of abuse and negligence. Tattoo removal is a growth industry. Tattoo lawsuits are soaring due to the harm caused by the tattoo predators who abuse the young people who mistakenly trust them. If you were tattooed as a minor or while intoxicated, take the tattoo parlor and the tattoo predator who ruined your body to court. Make them pay for what they have done to you. God bless you. Young people-- stay in school, do your best there, avoid drinking, drugs, tattoos and piercings, and avoid those who have them. Go to college, study science, mathematics, or business, and avoid liberal arts, unless you are wealthy and do not have to support yourself and your family.

Anyone know some links to cute tattoos for girls?

foreverb18

or if u have some ideas pls lemme know :) thx!

Answer
You need to just figure out what you really love and go from there. My first tattoo was a swallow-tailed butterfly b/c I was obsessed with butterflies at the time. Once I figured out what I wanted, I scoured the internet looking for a picture of a butterfly in the right position, then I let the tattoo artist work his magic with it. You don't want to just go to a site with pre-made designs and pick one for your tattoo. That won't mean anything and in a couple of years you'll regret getting it, trust me. My butterfly is 8 years old now and I still get a ton of compliments on it. I now have 4 tattoos and each of them has a special meaning.

What are some cute tattoos and peircings for girls?

Jessica

I want tattoos designs or ideas please. Or links. I want ones that not many people have and the same with peircings. Or just cute piercings.
I like girly things and my favorite color is pink

Answer
Getting a tattoo idea from a link well is going to be hard to say that not a lot of people have got it. Chances are if there is a link for it someone has replicated it or modified to be more original or either the artist did it verbatim as the design that exists on a public platform such as the web. I'd suggest that you go to a professional, clean, sterile, and reputable shop and take a look at the artist's portfolios and maybe sit down and talk with them and get them to draw you up something nice and original that is for you. You could be more detailed in what you like and it would been easier to help you. Giving the things that you like help a lot more than being so broad about you liking girly things and that depends on the persons individual concept of what is girl and what isn't. It could differ from person to person. But I think you would be pleased to go to a shop and get someone to talk with you and draw you something up cute that you love and that expresses what you want it to.

Good Luck with your Endeavors

Half Sleeve tattoo design?

AlexandraE

Ok i'm trying to plan my tattoo half sleeve. I want the main image to be an animal (either a lioness, elephant or a leopard with sad looking eyes, probably just the face of the animal) and i want it to have a colourful tree around it that goes to the top of my shoulder with maybe little coloured flowers in it, I also want a small dove and the word ahimsa written in sanskrit probably around my arm just above the elbow. ideas suggestions ?
oh im a girl and i have kinda small arms too :)

Examples of the animals i like :
Leopard http://www.zhippo.com/MarkBlanchardHOSTED/images/gallery/leopardprev.jpg
Lion http://www.steve-a.co.uk/main/images/emily1.jpg
Elephant http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3562/3600468859_8eefc3d967.jpg

Answer
I think this could be a really cool design. Here's some suggestions:

-See what each of these animals symbolize and decide which animal you think fits the best.

-Have the tree have leaves or buds of flowers flying off it that fade down your arm to connect the whole piece

-You could have the roots of the tree spell out ahimsa

-Have the tree curving like a C where the branches are at the top of C curling around your shoulder blade and the lion/leopard/elephant making a backwards C with the head of the animal going towards the crook of your arm. I think that would make the design flow better.

-You probably already know this but don't skimp on the artist or price. When it comes to a 1/2 sleeve and something as complex as this design make sure you search around for someone who specializes in color or animals and such and make an appointment. This tattoo is going to be expensive but don't have the price tag scare you aware from a highly accredited pro.

Hope this helps!

What do you think about girls with tattoos?

Regan Nguy

A smoking hot girl in this case. Tramp stamps, arm sleeves, small ones on back and wrists etc. Does it affect your opinion of her judging by appearance?

Answer
Personally, I love tattoo's and with that, I love tattoo'd girls, however unfortunately society does judge people, and it does judge the tattoo'd! Maybe this is a question best to be asked elsewhere, not in the tattoo section, as it will be full of like minded people. :)

DO guys tattoo themselves becuz of girls they love ?

This guy got dumped by his girlfriend and a week later ha had a new tattoo. Not her name of her pic or anything but a tattoo.

I saw some pics of this guy who seem to be nuts about me - I hooked up with only one time on vacation and he has crazy Chinese letters on his arms now. The thing is I'm not even Chinese. I'm Korean . Not sure if he got those hideous tattoos becuz of me I find that odd.

What kind of guys tattoo themselves over a girl ?

Answer
Dumb ones.
Then again...
Most of them fall into that category.
Myself included, sometimes.
I have no tattoo, nor do I ever plan to have one.

Don't worry. Hideous tattoo guy didn't do what he did because of you.

I am thinking about getting a Monroe Piercing. Can someone give me insight?

Irish Girl

I am going today if I do it. Where I go for tattoos and piercings just moved and today for their grand opening, piercings except micro-dermals are $20.

1. I am 41 but my girls think it is cool. They have had piercings one had to take out for school and the other for work.
2. My mother will have a fit and Thanksgiving is in 2 days and all the family will be there and my hair is already black and purple...but I get lots of compliments.
3. Another concern is how bad does it hurt? My tongue did not hurt but after I could not eat or talk for 3 days. Will a Monroe do this? I don't want to miss out on Thanksgiving dinner : )
4. We will be taking family pictures, will there be a lot of swelling?
5. My dad has just been diagnosed with cancer and I don't want to upset him...he is more calm than my mom. But, nothing should surprise them with me!
6. My nose is already done.

So with my scenario's should I do this today or wait until after the holidays and pay $50 instead of $20???

Answer
I would wait until after the holidays.
Swelling on your lips will usually go down within a few days but it depends on how fast you heal.
I havnt had a monroe, but ive got a side labret and i honestly didnt even feel it.
Its only $30 extra dollars so its not a big deal.
Plus, itll still be tender so you wont be able to enjoy the food as well. I suggest waiting.

When in doubt, wait. :)

Good luck!

btw, you sound like a cool mom lol

Tattoo ideas needed.....?

First attempt asking failed, I want to get a tattoo for my 19th birthday that will be in two months. I am not creative, but I can draw really good and I drew my step dad's tattoo. I just need an idea. I want a tattoo that represents my life. I was abused for 10 years and I felt trapped, like I couldn't escape and tell anyone. I had to get my strength back and courage to do something about it. Over the years I lost faith in God, and I didn't have any hope, I wanted to kill myself. I was very depressed. But now I have overcome my fears and worries and I am now free. I now believe in everything and I have hope. I want a tattoo that represents that. I would like the tattoo on my forearm or upperarm. Btw, I am a girl.
Thanks.

Answer
Birds are symbols of freedom so getting like a sparrow or maybe a dove would represent freedom and also the dove would represent religion if you a religious person that might be a good idea, but the dove represents Christian beliefs so yea. Maybe like a bird escaping a cage.. the cage could be kinda gothic looking a little dark and the bird could be colorful, get what im saying? for me that would represent escaping and getting out of a depressing time in life and now being free. Symbolism is a good way to go hope this helps

Tattoos and piercings?

Amanda

I was wondering does tattoos hurt more then piercings cuz i do have a lip piercing and it didnt even hurt. So from a scale 1-10 how much does it hurt. Like tell me cuz i want a tattoo on my arm, back, where my breasts are, and legs. Im a girl nd im 18 so can u rate the pain for each of those plz thanks.

Answer
A tattoo is more annoying than a piercing. It's like a cat scratch, but its vibrating your skin as it scratches you. I have one on the top of my shoulder and it wasn't pleasant. Especially the closer it got to my neck. Same for the back. It wasn't pleasant the closer it got to my neck. Basically they all hurt, but pain is subjective. Like I said its more annoying than anything. You just have to control yourself when getting it done. Try to take you mind someplace else if you don't like pain.

oh and anyone that says it feels nice and it's like getting a massage is full of it! I've got 3 tattoos. One takes up my entire upper back. There is no massage like feeling....trust me. I sat for 2 four hour sessions and can honestly say the best part about it was being done.

Good luck!

What do you think of tattoos, sexy or not sexy?

Travelman

Guys and girls can both answer this.

Answer
depends where it is. i like upper-arm tattoo's, and across the shoulder tattoos, but i'm not a fan of wrist tattoo's, or ankle tats, or chest tat's, or leg tats. :S
but i like em. yes. they're sexy. xD
-that is on guys.

on girls.... ermm... small ones. tiny itty bitty ones look nice. :p

is it okay to refuse to date a girl because she a belly button piercing or a tattoo?

I

both of those things are really unattractive and most girls that have them are slûts anyway. it's either that or just sleep with them and run. sound good?

Answer
Well you can choose whatever you want. If piercings aren't your thing then hey that's your choice. If you don't like it then you don't like it. But it's also stupid as hell to assume all people with belly piercings are slutty. My best friend has a belly piercing and she's the furthest thing from slutty. Maybe get to know the person before you deny them for something as trivial as that.

are girls who have belly button piercings and tattoos slûts?

I

it seems like a really dumb thing to do so most must be.

Answer
not ALL of those girls but most of them, yeah! it also depends on where the tattoos are...
