Does anyone know any twin symbols or good pieces signs to tattoo?

Daniel

Me and my twin sister want to get twin tattoos. We're pieces but shes a girl and im not... so i want to know if anyone knows any good tattoo ideas that could work for moth her and me ? Thanks!

Answer
The astrological zodiac sign is spelled "Pisces" - I hope that's what you meant, otherwise you are both falling apart into pieces. The symbol looks like this: â so that would work well:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisces_(astrology)

or you could get a quality tattoo artist to design a couple of fish swimming around eachother:
http://loiaconos.deviantart.com/art/Koi-Fish-Tattoo-287731648

Find out the origin of your last name (surname) and get something representing that. For example, Smith comes from blacksmith so you could both get a horseshoe, which is also a lucky symbol. Jones comes from the biblical figure of John, who is symbolized by an Eagle in Christian art, so you could both get an eagle.

Where is the best place a girl can get a tattoo?

Caitlin M

I'm going to be getting my first tattoo as soon as I turn 18; I want it in a place that wont move much when I get older. I've heard the ankle or the foot is a good spot, but I'm open to any ideas. I'm most likely going to get a tribal clover because I'm Irish, its going to be pretty small, so does anyone know any good places to find tattoo ideas on the web? Plus any places it would be good on the body?

Help with an art project, to portray my personality in a drawing or 3d piece?

cool tattoo designs for girls pictures on Feather Tattoo Designs For Girls: 3D Tattoo Design | Tattoo Design 3D
cool tattoo designs for girls pictures image

Rebecca-Lo

Okay so I've just started art college this week, and we got a mini project to do for next week. Our tutor only gave us a very brief description of what we have to do so I'm a bit unsure how to go about it. Basically we can do a 2d or 3d piece, and its meant to portray our personality traits/hobbies in it. Personally I'm more comfortable with doing 2d pieces like drawings and stuff, but I really want to do something that will really stand out and give a good first impression. I'm the type of person who gets all these ideas in my head but then doesn't know how to go about doing them. Any help would be really appreciated so if anyone has any cool, creative ideas please help.

Description of me/my personality:

I'm really small, only 5ft0, get made fun of a lot (jokingly) over my height and have gotten a lot of nicknames because of it (Frodo, Pixie etc.) . I'm from Ireland. I have very pale skin, very blue eyes that I tend to get a lot of compliments on, and really long eyelashes. I have naturally a mousy brown hair colour, but have been dying it for the past 3 years bright blonde/white. I'm friendly, find it easy to make friends and talk to new people. I can be really hyper and quite crazy especially around people I know well. I have a really loud laugh, sounds more like a cackle half the time :P. I'm a bit odd really, I say really random things. I love criminal minds its probably one of my most favourite tv shows ever. I also like to read, I really like crime/thriller novels, and because of my love of crime novels/shows all my short stories in school were kind of dark and crime based also. I have a very unusual style and dress sense. Most of the time I wear all black, I don't know what it is I'm just more attracted to black clothes. I get called a goth a lot. I do like lacey materials in clothes, and I love skulls and tend to wear a lot of skull jewellery, or scarves/tops or anything I can find with skulls on them :P. I mainly always wear skinny jeans.leggings I don't like flared jeans, my jeans have to be super skinny and tight. I quite like working out , I'm more of a work out at home girl though. I love blogilates workouts and Jillian Michaels. I'm rarely seen not wearing doc martens.I get sunburnt really easily because of my fair skin. In college I'm studying Makeup design for stage and screen. I love doing makeup so much. I love watching tutorials on youtube or looking up makeup pictures for inspiration, and just experimenting with different makeup looks. I get asked to do my friends makeup for nights out a lot, but I never mind because its something I love to do. I wear lipstick a lot, mainly darker colours like red/burgundy/plum colours. I love tattoos I only have two at the moment because I don't have the money for any more yet but I would love to get quite a few. I think all art forms are amazing, and I do count tattooing as an art form despite what anyone else thinks. I love tea! And I always have to have a lot of sugar in it, I'm a bit addicted to sugar I think, and caffeine. Seriously I get so hyper after like drinking coffee, or eating skittles or drinking coca cola. I love cats, and my kitty Arthur is like my little baby. I smoke, and I do drink, mainly vodka. I get pretty annoyed when people call me cute, like I can't do anything without it being cute or something! Just because I'm small.. I like writing (short stories/songs) but kind of haven't done it in a lot time and would love to get back into it once i'm settled into college. I love animals, and used to want to be a vet when I was younger. Even when I was like 7/8 and we had reading time and could get any book we wanted from the shelf to read, I'd get the big encyclopedias and go to the animal sections and read about them hahaha. I love fairytales, especially the older/original versions like Grimms Fairytales and Hans Christian Andersons. I find them really fascinating. I like music, and I like to sing. I've been told I have a good voice by many people but not many people get to hear it because I'm terrified of singing in front of anyone. I like modern day/chart music but I have quite a mixed music taste and also listen to the likes of the Beatles, the Ramones, AC/DC etc.. I love going to the cinema, and I love going to see horror movies. I always do this thing where I cover one of my eyes when I get scared watching a movie, I have no idea why because its not like it helps at all :L. Okay I'm so sorry I ranted there jsut wanted to really give people a good look into my personality and hope they can get some ideas from it.

Nicknakes: Blondie, Frodo, Becka, Becks, Pixie, Smurfette.

What are your opinion on trendy tattoos?

Kitten Mit

They're ridiculous ..
Don't get me wrong tattoos are amazing, but trendy ones aren't. Because its TRENDY, trends DON'T last. They're trends. So what's "in" right now are infinity tatoos, feather tattoos (mostly feathers with birds flying out of them with some unrelated word like "dream" or "breath") and anchor tattoos.....like I see them EVERYWHERE! And its stupid.

I mean most girls just go on Tumblr, see a picture of someone with a feather tattoo with birds flying out of it, it has a bunch of reblogs so they think "I have to get that I'll be so cool!!!" So they get it. But what happens when the trend dies and people start making fun of it? Its already happening they're deamed as "white girl tattoos". So what happens when you decide you are over it? Too bad you're stuck with it your entire life.

If you're gonna get a tat you should make sure it represents you and your spirit, not some 2013 Tumblr fad. It should reflect YOU.

Thoughts?

Answer
I understand what you mean but bare in mind that the tattoos on there are just pictures taken. How do you know what that tattoo meant to that person? I wanted an anchor tattooed to my ankle. Does that mean i'm following a trend? no because to me is represented staying grounded and being true to yourself. Birds coming from a feather can mean different things to different people such as freedom or change. I understand that some people do sit and think thats pretty i'll get that cause everyone else does... but some tattoo designs can inspire a lot of different people. Don't be so quick to judge.

Anyone think getting a Tattoo of stars is stupid?

3 star tattoos for girls on Tribal star tattoos never disappoint wearers.
3 star tattoos for girls image

Pom

This girl I know in my grade is getting 3 small stars on her wrist she says, does anyone think that's extremely pathetic?

Like it really annoys me, everyone I know gets stars, and that's it, it's tacky and overrated and unoriginal.

What do you think?

Answer
It honestly does not make sense to say that a star tattoo is unoriginal or overly done. Yes a lot of people have star tattoos but there's also a lot of people out there w/ tattoos of skulls, flowers, birds, hearts, lovers names, birth signs, and so on and you don't see them getting bashed. I think bashing star tattoos is a "fad" at the moment until sometime finds a new tattoo design to pick on. Who's to say that a star doesn't mean something to the person, yes people get it just to get but so what?! There's lots of people who do get a tattoo because it means something and others do it just to say hey look I have a tattoo. It's there choice so why would a design on somebody Else's body bother you so much? People need to quit being so judgmental of other people's art because you don't know why they got it and overall it's nobodies business but there own.

Can you join the army if you have a tattoo in your ear?

Q. I have a pretty small tattoo in my ear, and it's 3 stars, one big medium and small, I want to join the army, but don't know if I'd w aloud to or not? Please help me asap.

Answer
That will be a tough one. We put in a girl who had a tattoo of a flower behind her ear but I don't know if they'll allow a tattoo inside of it. Let a recruiter look at it so they can forward it up their chain of command and see if they will allow it.

@ TXDiver: If that was true then you wouldn't see people come to the military section daily complaining how they was rejected because of a felony, asthma, having only a GED, etc. We're not super-desperate like some people think and about 1 in 5 people in the US are actually qualified for military service.

What would happen to a tattoo if you got pregnant or gained weight?

Chelsey

I'm thinking about getting a side tattoo but i want to know what it would look like if i gained weight or got pregnant?

Answer
I'm sure it would stretch out along with the pregnancy and or weight gain. My husband is a tattoo artist, and I know he was concerned when a girl I knew who was rather large got a TON of tattoos on her arms. I asked him what would happen if she ever lost the weight, and he said that she could end up with the tattoos in different places, because of the skin going from stetched out to possibly shrinking down. I honestly wouldn't worry too much if you don't plan on gaining more than what occurs with normal pregnancy. as for gaining weight, it does happen as people age, but maybe having a tattoo on your side would be personal incentive for you to try not to :)

Im really into pirates and im thinking bout getting a pirate type tattoo, should I go with a ship, crossbones, compass

Im asking for your opinions

No band answers either

Also should I put it on my ribs or calf part of my leg? Im a girl so I cant walk around with my shirt off haha

Thanks,i also I am inspired by annie bonny, so if that helps

Answer
I've always been a big fan of the Compass Rose. There are so many designs that you could seriously personalize it... Make it celtic, or old-looking, of whatever ( just google-image compass rose for a ton of ideas ) You can go from simple to really fancy, too.

I'd get it on my ribs. Always thought that calf tattoos on a girl just look clunky. Just an opinion, though. Someone else might feel different.

Also, if someone asks you about it, and you don't feel like giving a long talk about pirates, you can just say "It's to help me find my way...

I'm getting a tattoo on my foot in a few months?

Emily

The tattoo is going to be on my foot, (Left foot, kind of off to the side) and it's going to be a raven from birds eye view. I've thought about the design for about 3 years now, and I have been wondering how much it hurts. I have heard the foot area hurts a lot, but I'm wondering if it's tolerable and if I should be able to make it through. Also, I don't know if this adds any extra help, but when I get i'll be 16.

Answer
I used to tattoo and done some on some girls feet. They said it hurt bad so I done one on my own foot to see what it felt like. I personally didn't thing it was too bad. It's worse than some spots, but better than some too. The last one I done on a foot was on my current girlfriend's foot. She didn't think it hurt bad at all. It's pretty much your pain tolerance. Me personally, I thought your legs hurt worse than your arms, and I didn't think the outside of your arm hurt at all really, but I've seen people with tattoos on their arms that couldn't bear the pain. Idk what state you're in but I know in Indiana, you have to have a parent/guardian signature to get tattooed under the age of 18. You should be fine though. Good luck.

Should i ever get a tattoo?

izziebby

well, to start off...
i want a tattoo on my lower back
like a butterfly, or some stars
but i definitely want it on my lower back

the thing is, that i dont know how much this hurts
people have told me it is extremely painful
i dont want to regret gettting the tatto either
do you guys think its a good idea?

and since this will (maybe) be my first tattoo
and i have no experience
how are tattos made?

thanks for taking the time to answer my question

Answer
The short answer is yes, it will hurt - but not as bad as you might expect.

There are a few rules you can follow to make it hurt less.

1. No alcohol or drugs for 24 hours before, don't be tempted to go for a bit of dutch courage beforehand as this will thin your blood and make you bleed more.

2. Make sure that you have eaten a good meal in the few hours prior to getting tattooed. This is pretty important, I have a lot of tattoos and found that when i had eaten prior to getting them done i felt less pain. also think of things in advance, if your tattoo is going to be on your lower back will your jeans / belt rub off it on the journey home from the tattoo shop? Maybe wear tracksuit pants or something loose.

3. Bring a sugary snack and a soft drink with you, this is another thing my tattooist recommended and it helped me when i was being tattooed for longer periods - has something to do with blood sugar levels I think.

4. The outline is the worst part and that's what they start with, so the first few minutes is usually the worst, after that your endorphins (body's natural pain killers) kick in and it gets easier, don't throw in the towel within the first few minutes because it gets a lot easier as time goes on.

5. I also found that the pain is only there while the needle is on your skin, like when they lift the tattoo gun off you it eases right away, so if there's a particular part that's getting to much for you, just ask the tattooist to give you a short break or move to a different area.

6. In my opinion, the sensation of getting tattooed is different from pain, even though they use a needle its not like being pricked or pierced. its more an itchy burning scratching feeling. obviously its different depending on where you get your tattoo. I find that tattooing over an area where there is a bone close to the skin is more 'painfull' then on a fleshy area, but maybe that's just me.

7. Don't think about the pain too much, it will definitely make it worse, just be relaxed and you will find its a lot easier then you thought it would be. you might even enjoy the whole experience!

8. Above all to prevent future 'mental' pain, be 100% sure of the design you want, maybe get an artistic friend to design it for you or bring your ideas to the tattoo artist and get them to do a custom design for you. It will help if the design has a special meaning for you. Don't pick a design off the wall of the shop! did you ever go out to a club or pub and see somebody wearing the exact same top or dress as you? sucks doesn't it? Well, imagine being on the beach and seeing someone with the exact same tattoo as you, its worse because at least you can change your clothes - that ink is on you forever!

As regards your other questions;

Are tattoo's a good idea?
Well yes, I think tattoo's are a good idea (I have both arms almost fully covered) but they have to be planned correctly. As I've already said, be 100% sure of your design, it's going to be with you for your life. also be sure of the placement - Will you want you tattoo to be visible to others? what about in the future like on your wedding day? I know a few girls who couldn't wear the wedding dress they wanted because it showed their tattoo and they wanted to keep it hidden, try think of these type of situations before planning a tattoo.

How are tattoos made?
They use a machine with a fine needle (sometimes with a few needles) which they dip in ink and then use to draw the design onto your skin. the needle moves back and forth very quickly and it punctures a few layers of skin and the ink is left underneath.

Good luck with it

Henna tattoos on guys?

TJ

Is it considered improper or "gay" for a dude to get a henna tat? Not some flower stuff with swirls and twists, but instead like a normal tattoo design, just with henna?

IE - a skull, a chain of bullets, a gun, a motorcycle, a scroll, Chinese characters, etc. etc.

Answer
No. In general. In specific cultural situations it would be inappropriate, or at least nontraditional, for a man to get henna. For your average westerner looking for a fun design, it's fine. I love doing henna on guys. Girls like flowers and other things that are easy. Guys usually want something more geometric or uncommon, which is a nice challenge. Plus they're a bigger canvas, so you can make huge dragons and battle scenes.

What do you think of girls with tattoos on the lower back or lower hip?

Jen P

I want to get a small tattoo on the lower hip and one on my lower hip. Do you think that will look nice or tacky?
Should i just get one of it or both?

Answer
I have a small lower back tattoo. It was my first, (of 10) and to this day it hold special meaning in my heart! I see many butterflies and other kind of unoriginal tattoo's there and that personally looks bad. My tattoo is my name the way my dad wrote in on my first Birthday card. He always had my back and loved me so I got it on my lower back. Its personally up to you though... I don't think they look trashy as long as it is small and respectful!

For a first tattoo on a girl where is a good place to put it?

Alicia S

I want to get a tattoo. It is a heart with a ribbon. I don't know where to put it. I want it somewhere where I can hide it easily if needed, but if I want to show it off I can. I think that the upper part of the arm is a little too manly. Please help!

Answer
dont you hate it when people answer with stupid answers such as the one that someone gave you? yuk. anyway, i have a heart with a ribbon that says mom and dad, and it has a halo. it is on my ankle, and i love it! you can only hide it with high socks or pants, but i adore mine! hmm... maybe your shoulder blade? or your hip if its small enough? or if you dont wear alotta low cut shirts, on your chest area. but dont forget to take into consideration what it might look like when youre older. never forget to plan strategically :P

Ok, what is up with the changing of the zodiac signs?

cancer zodiac tattoos for girls on Cancer And Capricorn Tattoo || Tattoo from Itattooz
cancer zodiac tattoos for girls image

Avenue17

I am an aquarius girl and have known that even as a really little kid. The description for aquas describes me perfectly... does this mean I really am changing to a capricorn? I am NOTHING like a capricorn... Do the changes mean from here on out people who are born recently follow the new changes? or does everyone?

And if you think about, this really isn't cool... my godmother got a crab tattooed on her ankle, but now shes no longer a cancer? or is she?

Answer
YOU are still an Aquarius and your godmother is still a cancer, so rest assured.
Today our system follows Tropical/western astrology.

I'll explain to you as simple as I can why the changes don't apply to you or anyone you probably know of.
Tropical western astrology does not count Ophiuchus as a zodiac sign. <- I really just wanted to end it at that. But you'd probably still be confused.

The changes applied long before this hot mess.
Dating back around 130 BC when ancient greeks realized earths movement of precession, and then astronomers claimed Ophiuchus as a zodiac sign because of the alignment of the constellation. Some astrologers (sidreal) fall into this belief that the system actually has 13 signs.

However Tropical/western does not depend on constellations, rather they count degrees and call them zodiac signs. Horoscope descriptions derived from romans when they tied in the meaning of the symbol with their beliefs.
Fortunately for you, You believe Horoscopes /tropical western astrology makes more sense than Ophiuchus the 13th zodiac sign.

What are some good guy and girl tatts?

beans2992

We're thinking of getting a matching pair. Nothing too big and nothing too small. Something that will look good on both of us.

Answer
You should draw a picture of any tattoo you want so that no body in the whoooooole world has it but you two, for starters. Well what do you two have in common??... like if you are both sports person you could do something simple like your teams logo, or if you both have the same zodiac sign you could put your sign (I'm a cancer, so crab, leo's or lions, etc..), or something cheesy like that.

Q. I'm thinking about getting a sorta large foot tattoo. And any managers out there of professional business let me know what you think about it. If it was a problem I could always wear shoes that covered it, but feet are a sort of personal area.

Answer
Don't do it. Depending on the job you probably can cover it up, but nothing looks grosser and more classless than a girl in slingback heels, sandals or bare feet with a big blotch on her foot, since you can't make out the design unless the person sticks her foot in your face.

Plus, the feet are extremely painful to get tattooed.

How much pain will this tattoo cause?

Kelly

I'm a few weeks from turning 18, and I want to get an oriental dragon tattooed on my upper thigh, like in the place that other girls get garters and whatnot done. It will be spitting fire, and I would also like to add that it's not an overly-detailed design, but it's still pretty, not sure if that changes anything. I wanted to know if anyone could tell me how much pain I will be experiencing and how to deal with it. Thanks to everyone who answers, I really appreciate it! :D

Answer
it all depends on your personal pain tolerance. but usually the thigh isnt a highly painful tattoo area, such as the foot or rib cage. so it shouldnt be that painful. if it is painful, it usually only is for about 5 minutes until you go numb from the pain and then it just feels like a constant irritant. try icing it or distracting yourself
