Tattoo question!?!?!?

MarissaBan

Im a girl and I want to get an infinity symbol on my ankle. Do you know how long I have to wait until I can shave? Also do you think its a cute tattoo?

Answer
you'll be able to shave regardless, just stay away from the area around your ankle where the tattoo is. as for it being cute, depends more on you then anyone else, its your body, not theirs :D

Why do girls get infinity signs tattooed on them?

Jax

Is it a cult? Is the cult dangerous?

Answer
Because it's their choice.

Symbol for strength overcoming hardships?

mackenzieb

I have been searching for something that symbolizes inner strength or overcoming adversities, as I want to get a tattoo. I don't really want any words, and I want something kind of feminine as I am a girl. Something small too. Help please!

Answer
http://celtic-tattoo.net/celtic_tattoo_designs.aspx... one symbol means inner strength. Very cute and could be made as small as you want.

Tattoo..............?

Ashley

I'm a 15 year old girl and I want to get a tattoo. I really want to get something meaningful. My dad said I should probably get one on the back of the neck, so that's probably where I will get it. I don't know what I should get, but here are a few ideas that I had:

Hearts?
Stars?
A scorpio symbol
'Lucky Charm' written in fancy letter with a little four leaf clover (I'm Irish, just to let you know)
Just some four leaf clovers
Something written in Chinese, like 'Strength' or 'Love'
'Live, laugh, love'
I've also been thinking about getting something in remembrance of my granfma that died about a year ago. We were pretty close and I miss her a lot.

If you have any ideas, please let me know!

P.S. Please don't answer if all you're going to do is lecture me about how young I am.

Answer
You said you want something meaningful, and then you listed off a bunch of generic stuff that really means nothing to anyone. Yeah, you're irish but how important is that to you really?
I think you need to wait until something REALLY meaningful hits you. Don't waste the spot that you like on something that really doesn't strike a chord for you. If you can't specifically pick what you want, and you're leaving it up to a bunch of strangers, you're not going to care about this tattoo in a couple of years.

When you think of something really meaningful, you will know it and you won't leave it up to anyone elses opinion.

Tattoo opiniooooonnnn, pleaseeeeeeeeeee?

me and alw

Heyyyy .

Well this is whats going on...

I wanted to get this tattoo ( the picture below all the text ) in my pulse, it wouldnt be that big , but even though people keep telling me how awful having it on that part of my body can be in the future when it comes to get a job... I just wanted to know ur opinion... if i didnt get it on my pulse i was thinking to place it on my belly button near to one of my hip's side. Which place do u guys find better? :)

http://media.photobucket.com/image/calve%20de%20sol%20tatoo/nathaliagrun/tatuagem.jpg

Answer
Hey, I have the same tattoo, on my right wrist. A lot of girls get that. I'm adding onto mine to make it unique, but I still love it as is.
I think it would look really cute on the hip, but don't get it too close to your belly button if you plan on getting pregnant.
Oh, and I'm not sure what you mean by in your pulse- is that the wrist?
If so, then yea, it will be a pain for some jobs, but if you're like me and are okay with having to wear long sleeves or big bracelets over it all the time, then go for it!

A Girl with a belly button ring vs. A Girl with a tattoo on her lower back?

InspirAsia

which do you prefer? ladies answer for what you prefer on you?

and if you dont like neither. than its cool.

Answer
the belly button ring because i can remove it at any time. The tatoo on the lower back can be stretched during pregnancy therefore being ruined or even aging skin can ruin the tatoo it's also permenant you can only remove it if your willing to pay 500 buks to undergo some kind of lazer or sergical routine. We get a lot of tatoos we regret when we're older so it just raises the bar even higher for my liking of peircings. If you take one out sure it'll leave a scar, but whats a small scar compared to a larger darker blob right?..

Wrist tattoo ideas please:)?

Q. I have ugly scars on my wrists..long story short :I'm 17 and I use to cut ,since I was 12.
I'm getting a black cross on one side...what should I get on the other side?(:

Answer
Sweetheart, I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but it needs to be said. I was there, too; girls were so cruel to me and there never was a guy to even look at me. My parents were abusive and I made them mad at me so they'd leave my brother alone. I felt worthless. I cut and tried to kill myself repeatedly, almost succeeding the last time.

But just know, the second you leave high school life gets instantly better. That drama dissipates and you're free to leave home if that's where the problem exists. I'm married, pregnant, have an amazing job, and happier than I've ever been in my life.

At seventeen you're life is only just beginning. Tattoos on your wrists can end it awfully quickly. No one in the professional world will hire a person with visible tattoos such as the wrists. To cover the scars, invest in Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. It worked wonders for me.

And get the cross somewhere else; I got a phoenix on the side of my ribs, right next to my heart. Consider placing the cross there.

Blessings and Love to you and yours.

Tattoo ideas for 16 year old girl?

Emma

so I'm 16 and my mom won't let me get my nose or Monroe pierced but she said I can get a tattoo (doesn't make too much sense to me) my cousin is a professional tattoo artist and will do it for me... I just don't know exactly what to get. I was thinking a cross on my wrist or a heart on my foot or something...but I'm not sure. any suggestions? something Girly. oh an I know a lot of people are going say that it should be something that means something to me and whatever...but please just give some suggestions? thanks

Answer
Tattoos don't have to have meanings or some trite bullshit about existential emotional symbolism. Think of things you like, and then get a custom design drawn out of that subject matter. "Girly" or not, this is you and it's your body, so why stick to socially constructed gender roles? Get what you want, not what you think is socially acceptable or "girly".

How do young Japanese (in Tokyo) feel about tattoos?

willnyu198

I have the back of both of my legs covered. One tattoo is a Japanese design, a koi fish turning into a dragon, which is big and the other is Atlas, holding a globe. I'm a 24 year old white guy from California, so I'm obviously not a Yakuza, but still understand the taboo in Japan. What is the general opinion of the Japan's younger generation (25 and under) towards tattoos? I know overall they are still looked upon negatively, but it seems like younger people are more open and accepting. I want to live there eventually, but don't know if it will cause me problems. Since they are in an area that's easy to cover, I don't think it will be a huge issue, but I'm still concerned. I'm a corporate, business type, so I always dress nice, am very courteous and don't look like trouble. I know there are tattoo shops in Japan, so there must be a certain level of acceptance.

Answer
When Japanese Univ students, particularly girls, reached 21-23 years old (the age they graduate), they go to plastic surgery to erase their tattoo to get better job.

And small tattoo stickers are also popular in Japan.
http://www.ta2.com/tribal/
http://www.arkin.jp/

These are the reason why the absolute amount of tattooed people don't increase in Japan.

Go to establishment with your friend. I think you have no big trouble, maybe some.
But remember, when you were in Japan, the country is NOT the West. You can't judge with your American's standard.
And you should know that they don't look negatively, but they do NOT want see tattoo (do you understand this feeling?). Whether you are Yakuza or not doesn't matter.
Japanese people focus on how other people think and want in public place, rather than focusing on personal (individual) feeling. They are afraid of being a person "lack in common sense".

All the reports in English are written by westerners. Their feeling differ from Orientals. When you came to Japan, ask Japanese directly, not only younger but also elder people. They may not tell you honest feeling though.

Tattoos. 16 years old?

ChErRy

How do these sound. I dont want to rush into them. Also dont say anything about my age. I have been through more than many adults.

I already have the chinese symbol for courage on my right foot. it is blue with black out line.

i want "Ne Regrette Pas" on my right wrist. it is french for "No Regrets"
on my left ankle i want angel wings on the outside and devil pichfork on the inside (everyone has good and evil)

i want a star on my left shoulder blade that says "Wish upon a Star" inside.

I think women can have tattoos and still be professional. I would like to be a doctor someday. Most clothes i will be wearing will cover most of my body, so visibility will not be a problem.

Why do people think women should not have tattos? I think it is self expression. I also like piercings.
cant play vid. D:
i do have a reason for all my tattoos i want. glad people finally understand that

Answer
I think its dumb when people say that girls shouldn't get tattoos, nobody said they were designed for just men.

It just shows a girl who is tough enough to show who she is, and express herself, and let everybody know.

I think your ideas are good, cause they all have a good meaning, and in decent places.

Im getting one tomorrow! (:

Inner arm tattoo on girls?

Chris

I want opinions on what you think about girls with inner arm tattoos and any good ideas you might have
Nothing about tattoos are nasty or anything like that
i already have many tattoos just want to mainly know about the placement
i want something musical. Music is a huge part of my life

Answer
I believe the inner arm tattoo is a great place. Also, the wrist. Those are the two most places I find appealing. Any ideas for tattoos? Hmm.. Not necessarily, but I do recommend thinking about something that means alot to you. And don't listen to anybody else. Just do what you want to do too. And people who tell you that your tattoo is going to be there for the rest of your life, seriously... You only live once. Don't ink anything if you think you'll regret it. But honestly, some people are just small minded about tattoos and think you'll regret it. I hope you think of a great tattoo and the place where you put is, where ever you chose to put it, it'll be great.

would a tattoo look good on a girls arm?

Q.

Answer
that depends on the tattoo
and the girls arm

obviously

I need help with tattoo designs?

R

So ever since I was young I loved certain anime movies, but as I got older I watched a good amount that I absolutely love. I never got into anime TV shows (except 1- Avatar the last air bender). I really wanted to come up with a tattoo that incorporated the following movies that I love:
My Neighbor Totoro
Kiki's delivery service
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Grave of the Fireflies
(and or Avatar)

I really wanted something not cute, but spiritual or memorable. Also I really find the four elements of avatar interesting so that can be a separate idea if anyone has any ideas. Overall I just really have been thinking of it as an idea and was wanting some input.

Also I need to know about placement and size. I was considering getting a sleeve, but I'm a girl and its not very professional. I have room on my calf muscles, and most of my back (but on my upper back I have a trinity symbol in the center)-willing to work around it.

Lastly, I would like advice on one other design. My mom thinks I am VERY lucky and wanted me to get a tattoo that involved luck. I would like some good ideas of lucky symbols or any ideas you have.

One more pointer- I only want tattoos in Black and white with shading [NO COLOR]

Thanks for any help!

Answer
This has too many elements in it to be designed here. You need to sit down with a tattoo artist and work with them.

Anyone like designing tattoos?

Wendy Pfis

I'm just turning 17 so I have a year to think through these things, no worries, but I wanted to know if anyone out there likes designing original tattoos. If anyone would send me one, it would be awesome :D
I only like black and white tattoos, and nothing huge. I like peace and love and weed, but obviously I don't want a pot leaf plastered on my arm (thanks, America). And I'm a girl. Okay, thanks ^^
I won't pay for anything. If you're not satisfied having your art displayed on skin, then I can't help you (although I do understand). I would be happy to send you a picture once I got it, though :)
people saying they will: thanks? please do? I guess if you are confused where to send them, send them here: wendypfister95@gmail.com

Answer
I could design you few. I think I'm pretty good at that and designed few for myself. I'm going to get tattoo I designed myself.

Star Tattoo Designs for Girls?

Q. i am a good and looking for tattoo.. i want a star, nice ones u can intro? but im only 16.. will my mom nag?

Answer
Honestly, that depends on your mum sweetie. But generally, any mum would nag especially when you're only 16.

If you're really keen on getting a tattoo, just get it. It's your life. Your mum will be furious no doubt. But she'll cool down. Of course don't get too absurd and get a BIG star tattoo design on your shoulders. It's gonna piss her off.

Go for something small first I'd suggest. Like a small star tattoo design on your wrist.

http://www.moretattoodesigns.com/top-star-tattoo-designs/

The 5th star tatoo design for girls looks pretty slick in my opinion for starters.

You should like it sweetie. Since you're young, read up on the basics of tattoo as well ya. It's gonna help you.

Tattoo Design Ideas ..?

Stupidity

I'm planning to get a tattoo on my foot, and I would like to hear some suggestions for unique design ideas.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Answer
Foot tattoos can really be sexy and interesting. If you were to get a tattoo, it should at least be something that represent a part of yourself...that would make it unique. If you are a girl, flowers, zodiac sign symbols, vines, stars etc would be fitting and you can always design them in a way that would reflect a part of you...there are a lot of variations for these designs and you can always ask your tattoo artist to add a personal touch to make it unique.

How many books come after "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"?

xXxNicxXx

How many books follow Stieg Larrson's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"? Because I could have sworn I heard on the news that there were supposed to be ten books in the series, but only six of them reached publication with a possible seventh in hiding, but when I check around, there's only three books. Have the rest just not been translated yet?

Answer
There are three in all. The author is dead now and they published his 3 books.
They are:
The Girl with the Dragon Tatto
The Girl Who Played with Fire
and
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
Also, 3/4 of the fourth book was written before the author's sudden death. His partner posses it on her computer and people are saying that there may be outlines for one or two more books.
Hope that helped! =)
And you can check out morea about the author and stuff on these links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Girl_with_the_Dragon_Tattoo <- is about the first book
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Girl_Who_Played_with_Fire <- is about the second book
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Girl_Who_Kicked_the_Hornets%27_Nest <- is about the third book

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo or The Hunger Games?

1dopedude_

I want to buy a new Blu Ray and these are my 2 main options. Which one do you guys think I should buy? I've seen Dragon Tattoo but it's a classic but I haven't seen The Hunger Games.

Answer
If you haven't seen Hunger Games then I would recommend picking it up but if you were considering which one is better I would have to say The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Another thing to consider, which one has better rewatch value, I would say The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because there is plenty of detail you may have missed in the previous watching.

I have seen the Dragon Tattoo 3 times, I have seen Hunger Games once. The other day I decided to rewatch Hunger Games but ended up quitting 10 minutes in because all the scenes from the movie flooded back into my head and it became boring to watch.

Hunger Games = fun and entertaining the first time watching but no rewatch value
Dragon Tattoo = more details (more rewatch value), amazing director, and great mystery atmosphere

Theres a meaning for a tattoo in every place?

Rosie

What does it mean to have a tattoo on your lower back/middle back/upper back/ wrist/upper arm/ ankle and anywhere else please help
XOXO

Answer
Deciding where to place your tattoo is very important for a few reasons. Your main concern should be esthetics, meaning the way it looks on your body. However, depending on how well you do with pain, you might want to consider placement in relation to how bad it hurts in a specific place. If you cannot take the pain and need to stop, or change the design, that looks much worse than if you had put it in a different location.

When choosing a place for your tattoo, you should first analyze what type of tattoo you are getting, and what type of person you are. Males and females generally get different places tattooed, according to societyâs ideas of femininity and masculinity. So if you are getting a small feminine tattoo, you probably donât want to place it on your bicep. And if youâre getting a burly masculine tribal, you probably wonât get it on your lower back.

Stereotypically, males usually go for the arms, shoulder, upper back and chest pieces, while females go for the ankles, feet, lower stomach/crotch area, lower back, upper back shoulder area, and back of neck. Of course, these are just basic ideas, if we were to keep all our tattoos separated by gender like this we would all look the same.

Keep in mind what the design looks like when choosing the spot. Sometimes a female will want a feminine flowing type tattoo that doesnât stay in just one area. One that I just saw started on a girlâs hip went up her back, onto her shoulder, down her arm, and ended on her hand. Yet, because it was a thin, light, flowing design, it was very feminine and did an excellent job of accentuating her bodyâs shape and curves. That is very important in the eyes of most women, they want the tattoo to fit their body to make it look better, and not just place a piece of art on it randomly. A womanâs curves can be major factors in the design process so have the artist keep that in mind.

For men, it might look best to fill an area of muscle with the tattoo, so if the design you choose doesnât quite fill the area, a little bit of colored or greywash background might make it fit better and look better placed.

A tattoo artist has stencils in order to place the design on your body. If you need them to move the design in any direction, let them know. You are not being a nuisance; they are obligated to make sure you are fully satisfied with the tattoo. After the stencil is placed on your body, you and your artist might discuss small additions in order to make it fit better, when it is a design, just color, or something traditional like clouds. These last additions would probably be drawn on with a marker, and this is where trusting your tattoo artist is important.

Where is a cute place to but a small tattoo for a younger girl?

Angel

It want to get a small tattoo of a heart with an infinity symbol going through the bottom of it but I'm not sure where it would be cute at.
This tattoo does mean something to me so I do want it shown off but not all the time.

Answer
Tattoos are permanent (if that's the type you're getting), so you won't be a young girl forever. Don't just get a tattoo because it would look cute somewhere at the time when you get it. Get it because it means something to you, and you won't regret it later.

When you see a tattoo on a girls lower back, what do you think ?

millionair

I'm wanting to get a phrase tattooed, and was going to get it across my stomach but don't want to deal with the whole "If I get pregnant my tattoo could get distorted" thing. My friend suggested that I just do it on my lower back, but I'm afraid everyone will just think I'm a whore :/ I don't wear low jeans & short tops, I dress appropriately.

SO, if you saw a girl that dressed modestly, but saw she had a tattoo on her lower back (by like seeing her in a bathing suit or something idk), would you think she's a "tramp" ?

Answer
I think the "answer" to your question is going to be 50/50 and all 100% opinion. Everyone feels differently about things like this but its up to you to decide which opinions actually matter to you. Remember a few things - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, you know that you are not a trashy/slutty girl and you have the right to express yourself freely through art in the form of a tattoo anywhere on your body that you choose. You shouldnt have to worry about what someone else thinks. If it is going to make you self concious, don't do it. Tattoos are permanent and the last thing you want to regret. I obviously do not think a lower back tattoo categorizes a person... most of the standard opinion stems from the kind of person/the way a girl carries herself. You seem like a level headed girl, just think it through..... and through.

Do tattoos on a girl show a sign of a low class ???

OC

Like sailors would wear them, and so is true for the inmates and gang members, but it's kind of like hard to picture a lady stamped with a tattoo. Also, it's hard to imagine the same tattoos on a grandma's body (girls do become old with time). So, do tatoos belong on a lady, or they are the sign of a low class?

Answer
In my opinion most People get tattoos to get attention. Some companies like Disney for an example will not hire you if you have a visible Tatoo where your job requires contact with customers. Looking at that from there point of view it could be considered lower class but not necessary. God created us with beautiful skin ( Think about it ... our body is covered with it.... Huge compared to eyes ). Humen created it to distingusih them I guess. Hope this helps.

best of luck to you!!

Good tattoo idea Yo ?

Max

I'm a male and I'm turning 18 in a month and I want to get a tattoo...but I have no idea of what I want. Would be a great help if someone give a an idea, maybe something to be with the fact I'm turning 18 or something like that. Peace

Answer
Your First Tattoo should be small to medium size at first in a place that you can cover with pants or a shirt if you don't know what you want already (this way it can be Hidden for employment or whatnot). It should also not be in Color since some people Decide after they get a Color Tattoo, that they should have stuck with only Black and White, and the Color tattoo is the one they don't like the most. No Color, unless it's something your absolutely sure you want, not a impulsive Decision. Many Shops Have Hundreds of Designs in books when you get ther you can flip through (I assume this is a rite of Passage type thing), so don't get any writing, or anything that represents your age, when you are older you may regret it, wait until you are sure what you want for Tattoo's like That. My buddy and I ditched school when I turned Eighteen and both got Tattoos that day, no Idea what we wanted, but all the High school girls back then dug guys with Tattoos. My buddy got a Scorpion about 4" big in Black and White, he was Mexican/Native American so it fit him well. I got a 4" tall picture of "Marvin the Martian" from Looney tunes shooting a Ray Gun in Black and White, we were in L.A. County. We both Decided on our Right Upper arm. Now I have 14 Tattoos, and want 3 More in U.V. Ink (Shows up in Black light, with a lightly visible outline (Scar like) in all other light. I am an Ex-Paratrooper, so my Social Security Number Means alot to me, so I want to get it (in U.V. Ink) in Barcode form on the Back of my neck, also in U.V., on the Back of my Hands I want to get an Oroboros (U.V., Left Hand, Dragon eating it's own tail represents Reincarnation and the Circle/Cycle of Life), and a Hong of War(U.V.,Right Hand, Two Head Dragon upright with the two heads Fighting/Facing Each other, represents War, and to me the last 10+ years of "Holy" War, From Ghangis Kongs day back in Mongolia and China). I am Ordained Taoist and most My Tattoos have Religous meaning, my Left Arm: ForeArm; (Front) Taurus Constelation Mapped out (also on my right, both at wrist level, For the 12 month Zodiac, my Sun sign and Moon sign are the Same), year of the Rabbit (B-Day in Chinese Zodiac Script), Hexagon/Hexagram (Star of David, I am 1/8 Jewish of French Decent) (Back of ForeArm) Egyptian Ankh with infinity Sign in it (sideways 8, or 2 perfect Circles Joined, wrist level), U.S. Army Airborne Wings (with Green/Olive Drab Parachute Conopy) with Black Beret on it (for Rangers, before the Army switched to everyone wearing a Black Beret), Yin and Yang. Upper left: Tribal Arm Band (all the way around, from one side of my pit to the other), Sign of Aries (the 13 sign Zodiac, modern Zodiac, same as on the right also). Upper Back/Low Neck: Star of Lakshmi, Rub el Hizb (Octogram/Octogon, faded a little so take care of yours, espeacially the first week). Right Arm: ForeArm: (Front) Taurus Constelation Mapped, Year of the Dragon (year I was old enough to become a Chief in Judaism, in Chinese Script, I wanted something Dragon Related but not a cheesy Dragon Picture) and a Penticle (5 Pointed Star, 5 elements, earth, Water, Fire, Air, Heart) (Back, otherside) Sacred Heart (burnt almost completely off, years later) on a Sword shaped like a Crucifix (Color). Upper Right Arm: Peace sign in Rose stems (blurred spikes 20 years later) with amererican Stars and Stripes inside, Marvin the Martian (From Looney tunes, "must Destroy the Earth it Disrupts my View of Venus, Where is that P-38 Space Modulator?".), Sign of Aries.

I put the ones on my left because they represent the Loving and nutureing side of Religion, and the ones on my right (i.e., the Right Hand of God) represent the Wrathful side of Religion, except for Marvin, I still like my Marvin though, I have had it 18+ years, and Looney tunes are timeless, and Innocent.

Oh yeah, if you take in your own Design, be sure to make sure the Artist takes into account that when he Copies it, if he uses a photo copier, it will be Mirror imaged (Reversed), so he has to copy it twice, My beret on my Airborne Wings is on reversed, because I didn't notice, and don't be surprised if you have to go in and get touched up after (it's usually free if you go in a week or two after you get it, and get a reciept for proof.

you could go always go the Zodiac route, Besure to read my answer though:

Reasonable tattoo ideas?

Collin

Hey I am going to be turning 18 soon, and am fairly muscled. Some friends of mine (boys and girls) said that I would look good in a tattoo. I was wondering if anyone new some good traditional designs, or half sleeve designs (I think that's what they are called. It's where there is a sleeve tattoo only on your upper arm.) I don't want any of those stupid forehead tattoos. Upper-back and arm tattoos are mostly what I am looking for. At one point I thought subdermal implants would bee cool like a very small star on my wrist, until I looked up on YouTube how they do them haha. Tattoos that would fit me are intense ones, ones that have music (guitar), or artistic and complex designs, even traditional designs. I also have one last question. I have been doing a lot of research and watching many tattooing videos, and noticed that there is substantial bleeding when the tattoo artist uss his first tool. I am not worried about pain, just curious if there are two items a tattoo artist uses. Lastly do tattoo artists generally let you go in and inspect where they will work their art in advance, as well as their portfolio? I really don't want to end up with a turd on my arm...

Thank you so much
I would also like a pain level on area from 1-10 like I heard that your sides and side/middle abdominal hurt. I heard it hurts even more when you have visible abdomens.

Answer
Ah, the 'I just turned 18!' tat. I've got one myself and, granted, what I'm about to tell you will sound kind of hypocritical, but whatever you choose to get, START SMALL. A week after my 18th birthday I trotted down to my local tattoo shop and got a HUGE chest piece done. Set me back over $500 (come to find out, the place is a rip, however, their work is VERY good) Now that I'm a bit older and would like like more tats, the only thing I regret about what I have (stars swirled in the electro-magnetic spectrum across my chest) is the placement and how big it is. Now, when I consider adding to it, my new artist (actually, a friend of mine who just happens to tattoo) and I have to compromise.

That being said, do whatever feels right.
1. When checking out an artist or shop, have a look at the artist's portfolio and if you're not feeling *super* unique, check out the flash wall. No shame in that and a lot of reputable shops will actually customize the flash art to your liking. Obviously, you're going to check out how clean the place is and how reasonable their prices are, right? Of course. I just got a large puzzle piece, fully colored, across my whole foot for $60. Take that as a reference. The more detail and colors used, the more the tattoo will cost. No shame in comparing shops and artists either. Be patient and find what works for you.

2. Placement- Chest? Walk in the park for me. A lot of people would agree. IF IT IS CLOSE TO THE HEART, THE HEALING PROCESS TENDS TO BE EASIER AND LESS PAINFUL. However, the FURTHER AWAY from the heart, the more intense the pain (especially afterward, if you're a 'bigger' person) during and after, due to circulation. These places (like my foot) have a tendency to heal slower and be prone to infection. FEET, SIDES, UNDERARMS (bicep or forearm, underneath it) ARE TENDER. These areas, to most people HURT. My chest TICKLED compared to my foot.

3. So if you're looking for the 'No pain' zones, try to get something on your bicep or any muscle-y area. For your first tattoo, avoid doing large pieces (think things out a bit, if you want sleeves, you don't want a gigantic piece on your bicep that's going to mess up your sleeve later.) AND, BUY A BOTTLE OF BACTINE (OR STOREBRAND.) Should have Lidocaine in it. Some shops carry it and will either charge you for it or only spray you once if you're hurting. No shame in pain. If you're squirming, that just makes things hard on them, so it's best to bring your own. Spray the area down every 20 mins or so. This won't mess anything up, and I admittedly did it for my foot.

4. As for designs, other than what I said about flash art and checking portfolios, if you find an ACTUAL TATTOO ARTIST (and honestly, you don't want someone who just stencils), they can draw out anything you can dream up. Think of things you know you will never change you mind about. Stars, in my case, are never going to be something I'm going to regret in the future. They're damn stars. Hah. And YES, IF THEY DON'T LET YOU CALL OR COME IN TO INSPECT, DON'T GO THERE. No shop should have anything to hide.

Good luck! I hope to see some awesome work in the future on you and if you have any other tattoo questions, feel free to message me.

What do you think of belly button peircings on girls? Whould it be a good or bad move if the girl was considering to be a model? Honest answers please :)

Answer
Okay, I want to be a model also, and I've been considering to get a belly piercing too, but i id my research on modeling. in the fashion business, allot of designers look for models who can show off their designs, but some of them want a natural look for a model, meaning no tattoos, or piercings in unusual places. But some don't mind. its up to you if you really want a belly piercing. Because it could get infected and you could be scared.
For me to answer on that, I would say don't do it. It may look good, but I would just go for a all natural look, to be a model.

What shall I do at my sleepover?

Q. So far i want to cook something, make some beauty products and watch a film. I want unusual ideas...but not dirty please!! Its an all girls thing with 3 others...thank yoo!!

Answer
my daughter had a sleep over and we decorated cookies once that was fun, also you could get a chocholate fountain with lots of things to dip and make that a fun dessert. you can also do a fun breakfast omlette. take all the ingredients you want and scramble some eggs in a bowl, place some of the eggs in a plastic ziplock bag along with the items you want in your omlette, you than take the bags and place them in boiling water for exactly 14 minutes makes a perfect omlette and is fun to do. You can also get the pens you use for making Hemp tattooes and each do designs on eachother. those are alot of fun, You can always do make overs on eachother to, each pair up and do eachothers hair and make up all silly.

GIRLS and TATTOOS?

flirt

i need opinions from people....
whats your opinion of girls with tattoos?
for example one on lower and one on hip.

Answer
i have many tattoos. i started when i was 16 , and i am now 35. I work in an office , and i have tattoos that show, and some that dont, and i LOVE my tattoos , and i really dont care what other people think. I am also a mommy , and my girls LOVE when my hubby and i put the temorary tattoos on them. my tattoos dont make me who i am. i have a wonderful family, a good job, a nice home, the best of friends. all of my tattoos however are very feminine looking, but some are big. one on my leg goes from my ankle, to almost my knee, and goes some parts over my shin, and some pasrt around the back of my leg. and if i wear a skirt, it shows, and i dont care. you know what the difference is between people who are tattoed, and people wgo aren't ? people who are tattood dont care if you are.....

tattoos????

i'm yours<

i know that i'm young (13-15) and i can't get a tattoo just yet. but i kind of wanted to get something written on my wrist. how dangerous is that? and how much does a tattoo hurt? and no, please don't compare it to child labor. my mom already said that but i can't exactly relate to that. at all. anyways, and if not on my wrist i would want to get one where my dad wouldn't see. other than my butt or boob?
to tonycast.
what the heck.
i meant that if i said where my dad cant see (he's against tattoos) everyone would say butt or boobs.

pervert.
guys you seriously think i was getting one now???? get real. my mom would murder me. i mean when im 18 (supposed to be a b-day present for me for her since she got my sister one). my mum would be signing and watching over it.

Answer
As far as the danger goes, the only place that is NOT a good idea is on your head, as there can be a LOT of bleeding. Another bad place: the hands and feet. The skin on these places sheds and regrows so fast that the tattoos fade quickly- but not dangerous. Otherwise, if you talk to a tattoo artist, they will be able to tell you the risks of getting it where.

The pain involved with a tattoo depends on the person, but generally anywhere that it is over bone with no fat or muscle (ie ankle, tailbone, shoulder blade, spine!) really hurts. Also, places where the skin is naturally soft and tender- wrists, forearms, armpit, ankles, inside thighs- all hurt.

I've known girls who have passed out fom getting the "tramp stamp" on their lower back, and also guys who've been reduced to tears when getting inked on their ribs. Other people sit with a smile and read a magazine.

Since you are so young, it is not likely that you will get a licensed tattoo artist to do this for you- and maybe not even with a parents' consent! Many artists are bound by the rules of the parlor they work for. I would not advise going to a "garage artist" or a friend of a friend who happens to have a tattoo gun. This is how AIDS and Hep. C get spread!

My advice is try Henna. It is a strong dye made from plants, and comes from India. It takes a little practice to use it right, but you can get some stellar effects with it. It stays on for 3-6 months, and fades after that. Women in India get their hands and feet decorated in it before their weddings, and it can look just as good (if not better) than real tattoos!
You can order it here, or google for a place in your city on where to get it:
http://www.earthhenna.com/

If you really like it, you can just re-apply it every few months until you are old enough to actually get inked. If you don't like it, you don't have to reapply it! You're happy, Mom's happy!

Hope this was helpful, and Good Luck!

PS~ The only reason anyone mentioned giving blood to your kids: you just can't get inked when you are PREGNANT because of the risk of infection. Before or after you have kids doesn't matter!

Laura

I want a rose tattoo possibly on my upper arm or on the inside of my lower arm. im just worried about it looking trashy. this tattoo is in memory of my mom and i want to be able to see it. im not planning on getting a sleeve or anything, so i want to make sure it wont look weird. Im also concidering my foot. Any suggestions??

this is a pic of it

Answer
I have tattoos on both arms, so obviously I like the placement. People are always going to judge you for having a visible tattoo, no matter what the reasoning behind the tattoo. I think it's impossible for well executed, attractive designs to look trashy, but others disagree with me.

What do guys think of tattoos under a girl's collarbone?

Okay, so, I'm just asking this out of pure curiosity. I'm not going to change anything based on these answers. I'm honestly just curious.

But what do guys think of tattoos under a girl's collarbone? And i don't mean the whole chest area covered, just something like this:

http://whi.s3.prod.lg1x8.simplecdn.net/images/854548/tumblr_krksbz2z3W1qze4yoo1_500_thumb.png?1255672128

Answer
i have a tattoo about the size of my fist under each collar bone, and so far no guys have said anything negative about it. in fact the standard reaction is "thats a lot hotter than i thought they were going to be"

Question for Girls with Tattoos on Shoulder/Back/Collarbone?

Kelsey

I am thinking about getting a tattoo on my collarbone area, but my bra strap would be on it. Would my bra strap constantly rub against my tattoo and cause fading? If so, can I get it touched up every so often to keep it looking like new? Thanks.

Answer
Try a strapless bra until your tattoo heals. Keep it moisturized. Most tattoo artists will do touch ups for free, if they did the original tattoo artist. Your best bet would be to talk with your tattoo artist.

Collarbone tattoos are amazing.

Best of luck :)

Thigh tattoo ideas!? thanksss?

Madison D

Hey there!

I already have 3 tattoos, and im getting more...i want a tattoo on my upper outside thigh, but i cant think of what to get there.
All of my other tattoos have special meanings and etc, so for this tattoo im just going to do it because its "pretty" kinda thing lol
Here are my other tattoos
-2 kois on each side of my hip
-cherry blossoms on my lower back
-"my life ; my message" on my right rib

any ideas will help, i want something that will look good and not really random lol

thanks!

Answer
I think a geisha girl would look good on your thigh, if you want to go big. You can have the artist design it to fit in with the other Japanese style tattoos you have.
If you want to keep it smaller maybe a dragon that is simple in design, you can keep it feminine if you think dragons look too masculine and again, it would fit with your apparent japanese style.
Of coarse if you want something "pretty" just look around on the internet until you see something that is pretty to you and go with it.

Feminine / sissy tattoo desIgn?

marystoy_2

I am planning to get a tattoo to mark me as a sissy slave. We are not sure if we want to incorporate the slave part or just sissy. We are thinking inner thigh and something as simple as "sissy slave". Maybe the s would be formed as a whip and a pair of handcuffs hang from the e. Maybe pink, frilly script. Also thought of a pink heart with sissy or sissy slave inside. Maybe sissy girl. I am hoping someone has some good suggestions for a design or location. I would like it to not show normally but it is also pretty obvious I am a sissy from my hair, clothes and makeup so we are somewhat open as to location.

What are some popular tattoo ideas for girls?

meg

Ex - Hearts, Stars.

But the way its designed

Answer
The best tattoo idea for a girl is to stay far, far away from tattoos and those who have them. Any tattoo is a vulgar attack on the decency of man. And yet, more and more young people are buying into the Hollywood poison that tattoos are cool ways to âexpressâ yourself. But it is not true. You should express yourself with your words and actions, not by inking graffiti onto your living flesh. The message you will actually convey with a tattoo is âI am foolishâ, âI am unemployableâ âI make bad decisionsâ âI am a gullible robot that will do whatever I see on TVâ. I suggest you do not get a tattoo. A tattoo is a permanent cartoon-like drawing that will permanently your body like ugly graffiti defaces a public building. There is an 80% chance you will regret it, especially when you start to notice how regular, normal people react to you. They will look at you with disgust and pity, and over time, it will really get to you. Nothing illustrates the degeneration of western culture more than blind youth permanently disfiguring themselves over some warped idea of âexpressionâ Tattoos are permanent. You can not take them back.

âAll it takes for Evil to prevail in this world is for good men to do nothingâ. Edmund Burke

OK so I am planning on getting a tattoo on my shoulder I know a basic idea of what I want, just wanted to know if you have any ideas how to make it unique, OK so it would be the infinity sign with the word dream in it. I saw one that has birds flying away from it, which I thought was cute but im not to found of the birds so if you have any ideas or suggestions it would be appreciated.

Answer
Hey doll , welp not to put your tattoo down but i have seen millions of girls with that tattoo already so i understand why you want to make it unique . How about you find a tattoo that actually has some meaning to you ? Something symbolic . For example my mothers favorite flowers are orchids , so i want to get orchids tattooed on me . If the infinity tattoo with the word dream in it has a meaning for you or significance then awsome ! If not , then awesome too , i just think it would be better if it had meaning . You want something you won't regret when your 80 years old ! How about you get something like " keep on dreaming " in beautiful cursive on your upper shoulder with some butterflies flying away from it instead of birds. I dont know if you know about Jenny rivera , but her symbol was the butterfly because of how it transforms . Dreams transform from nothing into something beautiful , the way butterflies go from caterpillars on the ground .. To beauties flying with the wind .. Like a dream right ? So why not ? Orrrr ... You can go along with the infinity sign thing and have butterflies flying away from it . Up to you ! Good luck i hope it comes out gorgeous !

I want to get a tattoo on my side with a skull whose forehead is cracked and a black rose garden.
I also want a design like Adam Levine's on my arm.
And I wanted to know if guys like girls with those kind of tattoos...I also play lots of video games.

Answer
I tend to be drawn more towards girls without tatts, though a subtle bit of ink on her shoulder or ankle can be a bit enticing. Your design, however, does sound very intriguing, and depending on the artist, could look very awesome. If you can draw up a sketch, or know an artist that can do it right, go for it!

That being said, every guy has their preference, so it really depends on the company you keep, as well as the type of guy you're looking to attract. And even then, it varies depending on the person. The fact that you're a gamer, however, would probably add to the appeal. ;)

It's your skin, and if you want to use it to express yourself, by all means, do so. If a guy were to like you, I think he'd be able to appreciate that.

Were are some of the best places to get tattoos?

Q. Im getting a tattoo in a few weeks and I thought i knew what i wanted to get but now Im having doubts.

I wanted to get a small one either in the lower center of my back...or one behind my neck (like rite around the hair area). Were are some good places? and what are some good designs?

Answer
On your ankle, the back of your neck, and back shoulder are good places for girls to get tattoos. You should get your zodiac sign (if you like the design).

What do people think of pin up girl tattoos on a woman? I have one because Virgo (girl figure) is my zodiac.?

alwayswear

I think it's an awesome tattoo- on my ankle. I think it'a a normal, but unique design- lots of people have their sign as a tattoo. Is that strange? Thanks!

Answer
That's awesome. Tattoos are so individual that unless it looks trashy as in how you act making it trashy then there isn't anything wrong with it. People just like to judge others. My checks have vintage college girl pin-ups on them, hehe, love them! I also have my sign but the Kanji. Whatever suites your style!

tattoo????????

i am not yet old enough to get a tat but i like to think bout it befor i get it on the spur of the moment

well i would like to get the word luck, love, hope, life, or fun on my lower back i dont know which one yet

i would also like to get it in a graffiti style, i dont know what different kinds there is, so some pics would be nice, i also would like it to be green, blue, red, or black and white or a mixof some of those

is the graffiti a good idea?

Answer
Stay true to what you want. Don't let the opinions of others sway your decision. It's true, lots of people do refer to lower back tattoos as "tramp stamps" and I believe that it's because a lot of pretty girls have them, and when people are jealous they start name calling. Just get what you want.

As far as the design goes, tell the tattoo artist about your ideas and they should be able to come up with something you'll like. Research the artists in your town first and make sure you go to a good one.

And of course, wait until you're 18. I'm sure that's what you're planning to do anyway, but incase it's not I'll tell you the reason why I don't tattoo anyone under the age of 18 regardless of parental consent. You may still grow. If you grow, your tattoo won't look as good because it'll stretch. It's best to wait.

Good luck! I hope you find an artist who can give you the perfect piece!

I think some tattoo parlors first turn the tattoo into a temporary one. Someone I know got one, but before she got the permanant one she tried it temporarily for a few days to see how she liked it.

Megan

Although i don't have tattoos or many piercings i dress alternative, i suppose you could say 'rockabilly' if you wanted to label, but i just don't ever seem to attract guys with tattoos and piercings, yeah they notice me when i walk past but that's because i don't look like the 'common girl' but i don't ever get asked for my number/on dates.

Answer
Im not a guy but I am the wife of a tattooed and pierced man ... when we met i only had my ears pierced and no tattoos haha ... Every guy has his own style of girl he likes ... my style is a bit vintage rockabilly but he said it was the shorts i had on at work that attracted him hahahaha! Give it time and go after what you want ... don't always wait for the man to do it, or honey you could be waiting a while :)

any one think tattoos are all hype?

otherway

when i was in 10th grade i remmber talking to some friends about how i wanted alot of tattoos there response "tats are so lame" 3 years later those same friends are the ones getting tattood all over telling me to "get some tats" and now i think there lame

idk why but tattoos usd to seem like they held a deep meaning to me now they seem like taking a piss

idk not alot of things bother me im super lenient when it comes to MANY THINGS but when i see a cute girl with a chest tattoo of tinker bell it bothers me so much

Answer
tattoos that other people have that lack any meaning are pretty lame. when someone gets a beat tribal tattoo because they want their biceps to look sexy for the fat chick down the road, it's definitely lame. but their are a lot of tattoos that are just simply amazing for the art aspect. then on top of that, the meaning that many tattoos hold are their too. so when you say a cute girl that has a tinker bell tattoo on her chest is all the hype, you're probably right, unless she's super hot and puts out A LOT. give a good target to aim at ;)

cursive or print?

i kno its a problem wit it fitting on my foot..n i'm tryin to figure that out
another thing, what is a good font i could choose?

Answer
Personally, I think that is too much for just one foot. The bigger your font, the clearer the tattoo. I think it would look good separated, the first part on one foot and the second on the other...but kind of curved around the outer side of the top of your foot, curving towards your toes...if you get what I am saying. The great thing about tattoo places is that they usually have a big font book that you can look at and find your favorite.

My first tattoo was on my foot...and a rather big piece too. It took about two hours to do and a lot of people told me I was crazy for going for my foot for my first tattoo but it was where I wanted it. I think the pain was pretty tolerable...nothing like on my ribs. The outline got up to about a 7 on a scale of 1-10 and the shading about a 5. However, everyone has a different pain tolerance so it might hurt you a bit more or less. I found that the closer to my ankle it was and the closer to my toes it was, the more it hurt...but in the middle wasn't bad at all.

Some cons about feet tattoos are that they aren't covered from the sun a lot during the summer time...If you're like me, I live in flip flops when its hot. The sun can really fade away the tattoo. You always need to put sunscreen on it if you're going out and the sun is on. It's really good for it.

Another con for me is that I am kind of a girly girl at times and want to wear cute sandals with like gems or designs on them...but they usually break up my tattoo and it looks weird...so I stick to more plain shoes.
