im thinking about a zodiac (scorpio) tattoo on my inner wrist?

BOOM BOOM

here's the inspiration:

http://tattoos-and-art.com/wp-content/gallery/scorpio-tattoos/star-sign-scorpio-tattoo-41835.jpg

i wouldn't get the flower designs along with it, just the "M" letter that would be small enough to fit on my left inner wrist. what do you think? is it too uncreative or a typical girl tattoo? is the wrist a good place to get it?

Answer
I would agree with you that zodiac symbols are "typical girl tattoos", but I also think they are awesome tattoos.
I also have a zodiac symbol on my inner wrist. It's the symbol for cancer and it's in blue and pink. It hurt a LOT! I have many tattoos and they all hurt but this one REALLY hurt.
I think you should go ahead and get it if you want it.

Do you have any tattoo designs or ideas?

Brittany h

OK so I am planning on getting a tattoo on my shoulder I know a basic idea of what I want, just wanted to know if you have any ideas how to make it unique, OK so it would be the infinity sign with the word dream in it. I saw one that has birds flying away from it, which I thought was cute but im not to found of the birds so if you have any ideas or suggestions it would be appreciated.

Answer
Hey doll , welp not to put your tattoo down but i have seen millions of girls with that tattoo already so i understand why you want to make it unique . How about you find a tattoo that actually has some meaning to you ? Something symbolic . For example my mothers favorite flowers are orchids , so i want to get orchids tattooed on me . If the infinity tattoo with the word dream in it has a meaning for you or significance then awsome ! If not , then awesome too , i just think it would be better if it had meaning . You want something you won't regret when your 80 years old ! How about you get something like " keep on dreaming " in beautiful cursive on your upper shoulder with some butterflies flying away from it instead of birds. I dont know if you know about Jenny rivera , but her symbol was the butterfly because of how it transforms . Dreams transform from nothing into something beautiful , the way butterflies go from caterpillars on the ground .. To beauties flying with the wind .. Like a dream right ? So why not ? Orrrr ... You can go along with the infinity sign thing and have butterflies flying away from it . Up to you ! Good luck i hope it comes out gorgeous !

What do you think of finger tattoos on girls?

.I ain't g

I want to get a small tattoo on the side of my finger so that in a serious, formal meeting, I can wear a stylish gaudy ring to cover it up. I was thinking on the right side of my finger on my left hand, but now I am thinking of getting it on the inner part of my finger - like if you were looking at your palm, you would see it, but not if your hand was lying down flat. Which one?

Answer
I say don't get one at all...the ink in tattoos tend to bleed a lot easier and a lot faster on fingers than anywhere else. So whatever cute little design you get now will more than likely end up looking like a blob of ink a few years from now, or looking like you've been wearing fake jewelry. But I say on the side of your finger.

First Tattoo Ideas, Help?

Melanie

I'm a 19 yr old girl who has been looking to get a tattoo since i was about 16. For the past few yrs i've compiled different ideas for tattoos that i want. Now that i'm actually looking to go forward with getting a tattoo, i'm having a hard time deciding between the one i want ( don't worry, i'm not going to get it until i'm absolutely positive) i have a few options and i am just looking for peoples opinions to see if it makes it any easier on me to decide in the long run.

Options-

1.A sparrow (on my shoulder blade or a smaller one on my inner arm below my elbow crease) = To me this one represents freedom, beauty and love (sparrows mate for life),They also have been known to travel thousands of miles but always return home. I've always had an odd fascination with birds and i find the tattoo to be beautiful... an example of the sparrow i want-

http://indulgy.com/post/t1xOjxedg1/sparrow-tattoo-cean-ypsy-ink

2. मà¥à¤°à¤¾ à¤à¥à¤µà¤¨ मà¥à¤°à¤¾ सà¤à¤¦à¥à¤¶ हॠ(on my inner arm below my elbow crease written fairly small) = This is the quote by Gandhi "My Life Is My Message" written in hindi. This is hands down my favorite quote ever and something i truly look to live by, no matter how short life is. i want to leave something behind.something good, have a legacy and make the world a better place when i leave. I also think it written in Hindi looks incredibly beautiful.

3.Revel in the Chaos ( on side of arm near wrist in cursive) - Exactly what it sounds like, Even when life becomes chaotic, revel in it, make the best of the situation,Stay positive and find the silver lining no matter what situation you're being dealt.

4. Life is For Living ( On side of arm, near wrist. written in cursive) = This is taken from a song by Coldplay, which is my absolute favorite band, i have so much love for their music and it hold so much meaning to me. The quote itself means to me, to take advantage of every moment. Live life to the fullest, so to speak.

I'd love to hear opinions on these.
Thanks!

Answer
The sparrow one because quote tattoos are kinda dumb regardless of the gravity of the origin.

A collar bone tattoo is going to hurt a lot, but it's a really nice placement for that design. If sparrows mate for life why not get a pair of them?

I either want this: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/back-neck. its the 2nd pic done the girl on the left or this: http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?hl=en&safe=off&biw=1252&bih=572&tbm=isch&tbnid=5Y8sSGaqO9SVuM:&imgrefurl=http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/infinity%2520tattoo%3Fbefore%3D1339856695&docid=PCzcGENGA7OhwM&imgurl=http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5ooduvdoe1ryfipxo1_250.jpg&w=240&h=200&ei=DY2HUKPQEbGQiAfG_4HwAQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=337&vpy=168&dur=101&hovh=160&hovw=192&tx=60&ty=55&sig=110754559931175020644&page=1&tbnh=138&tbnw=161&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:68 ...... haha help me choose or any other ideas that you think is cool this is my first tattoo?

Answer
Definitely the cross. The infinity symbol has no obvious meaning. Also, I like how you're thinking of keeping it simple. It would be a tat that could look good in a dark colored dress. It's simple and classy. Also, kudos to not going Celtic on the cross. That's so played out! Lol.

Hey Holly, the correct link is up, now

People have issues with my tattoo?

Lani

So I'm part Maori (on my mothers side) part Ukranian (on my fathers side) and I have a Moko, which is a traditional Maori tattoo. But lately I've been getting a lot of criticism for having one. So I spent most of my childhood in Ukraine and my mother who is from New Zealand made sure that me and my siblings knew all about our Maori culture and heritage. So when I was 17 I had my Moko done and that was fine until I travelled to New Zealand where a Maori woman came up to me and said that it was disrepectful for "Whites" to have a Moko. I was gobsmacked! I couldn't even muster up the words to tell her that I was part Maori and had every right to have this tattoo. And I've had a lot more comments like that since then too.I know I just look like a typical white girl with blonde hair and green eyes but it's a bit upsetting and I'm not entirely sure how to deal with the people that comment these things and it's getting annoying having to explain why a "white chick who's not even from NZ" has a Moko. What do you tell people when they ask about your tattoos? Do you give them the story or just let them think what they want?

Answer
I think in your case, you should have told them. "I know I may not look Maori, but I promise you, I have Maori blood in my veins just like you do." And then just leave it at that. You shouldn't let people confront you and criticize you for your choices. It's your body, and it's a part of your culture. Who are they to say that you aren't worthy of a tattoo?

As for me, I don't have a tattoo with cultural significance like yours, but it does have personal significance. I don't feel it necessary to tell them why I got it unless they ask. But if they criticized me for it...I would set them straight.

so this may be an odd question, but tattoos on girls legs?

littledrea

how do you feel about girls having tattoos on their legs? like cool, cleverly placed ones, not some like rose on the ankle, or something stupid right in the middle on the calf, cause those are just ugly :) haha
anyways, is it butch?
cause i already have one, and i plan on getting 2 more larger ones on my legs, i just wanted to get opinions i guess..
heres kinda what i am talking about:
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=160215&albumId=3507101

and i guess ill put a picture of mine too, hey guys keep in mind that this is a cover up, so it is not perfect.
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2a9e5w7&s=3

Answer
Aw, hey, I really like yours! I actually like it better than some of the other pictures you posted... Anyway, I agree, randomly stamping something in the middle of a leg isn't attractive. But if it fits the shape and works with the curves, something yours definitely does, then they look awesome! Course, I feel that way about most arm tattoos, as well. ;)

And while the content can definitely make a tattoo more masculine, I don't think merely having any tattoo on your leg is, by definition, masculine. Just the opposite, actually, women have such lovely legs, they're a great spot for a nice tattoo. It can reinforce your femininity.

Pin up tattoos on a girl, where?

Kay

I decided to get a pin up girl tattoo about 5 inches long or maybe smaller. I'm not sure, but I don't want it big. I know what she's going to do and everything but...I have no idea where to put her. I definitely don't want it on anywhere on my arm or my bottom legs. But I just don't know where. Anyone have ideas?

Answer
I agree, ribs. Or your back. Or side of your stomach.

I was actually going to suggest bottom leg or arm. I don't know though, some people can pull things off better than others. I love these though:

http://i36.tinypic.com/24b90s6.jpg
(girl's arm)

http://i33.tinypic.com/160z9kz.jpg
(leg)

It depends on your overall style and what sort of personality you have though. I love pin up tattoos :)
With you wanting it about 5 inches there aren't many other places it could go unless you build it into already existing tattoos since it would probably look out of place isolated anywhere on the body bar arms, lower leg and stomach/ribs/back.

Friendship tattoo ideas?

BeccaBoo

My friend Steven and I want to get a matching tattoo on my 18th birthday. We want something that either goes together nicely or something that I have one half and he has the other. I am a girl and he is a guy so it is hard thinking of something we can agree on . Any ideas?

Answer
Find something that suits both of you.. You don't have to get them exactly the same one can be designed more masculine and one more feminine. Also something that can have multiple meanings to you, that way if something happens and you don't end up best friends literally forever, you'll still love your tattoo. For example my friend has matching Celtic knot tattoos with her 2 sisters. They all have different colors, sizes, and placement. The particular knot they have is also a religious simbol and represents their Irish heritage.

I need help with a tattoo design!!?

Brittney

My best friend passed away two years ago on friday from Cancer. I'm having a real hard time with her death and wanting to get a tattoo for some type of remembrance. I want the tattoo on the inside of my wrist but not sure what i should get. I really like the infinity symbol, feathers, hearts, and the birds flying away. Can someone please help me with figuring out what my tattoo should look like that I'm getting this Tuesday.

Answer
I would get something that symbolizes her, or your friendship. Personally, balloons floating away have always reminded me of loss, yet still are optimistic. You could do a cluster of balloons in black/grey, then have one balloon floating away from the bunch in her favorite color.
You could also have her name or "rip -her name" underneath, or even have her balloon be made out of words, so you could have the balloon made of "rip- her name" and some of other small cute, forever in my heart/etcetc.
If she had an animal she was obsessed with you could do that, or something along those lines.
I got a tattoo for my dad that's simply "RIP Daddy", and I love it, and will eventually add an old school rose to it I think.
I don't personally like the infinity symbol because a million teenage girls have started getting them, lol, but if it's what you want definitely go for it, and you could get her name written in it, or friends forever, etcetc.
If you're really indecisive don't feel bad about rescheduling the appt., you want to make sure youre 100% on what you want.
Love the meaning of your tattoo, I'm sure it'll be beautiful :)

can someone help me with some tattoo price info?

B

i am trying to get a price range for a half sleeve tattoo. can someone post a picture of a half sleeve tattoo with a good bit of detail and let me know how much it cost?

Answer
Tattoos are expensive. save up around $1000 if you want a really good one that you wont regret and have to spend more money to get covered later.
One like this: http://tattoosforgirls.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/84-tattoos-for-girls-tattoos-designs-half-sleeve-tattoo.jpg costs $600-$800
One more detailed and colorful like this: http://www.ratemyink.com/images/ul/478/Japanese-Tiger-Half-sleeve-tattoo-47852.jpeg is $1000-$2000 and will take two or three months to complete.
When I turned 18 I got a 3 inch treble clef behind my ear. I spent $60 on it and it looks like a prison tat. Next week I'm getting it covered for about $500 maybe more.

Just save up your money and go to a good place and work with your tattooist to get started on your sleeve. Have fun :)

Opinions on Angel tattoos?

Kris Host

Hey, I'm currently planning on getting a full sleeve tattoo of angels and demons on my left arm. The angels and demons are going to be a gothic styled and the back ground looks a lot like volcanic rocks with cracks. Each demon will have dates or a single word that has meaning to me. Each angel will have a family members name on their arms, but the biggest angel on my bicep will be the only girl and will have my girlfriend and mom's birthday on her arm. Tell me what you think. Also this Is a very detailed tattoo, I'm expecting to pay $3,500 is this accurate sounding?

Answer
tattoo price varies depending on the studio you go to, whether or not you want colour or black and white, and whether or not the artist is designing the majority of the tattoo for you or if you're going in there with it already drawn up (even then they'll still have to tweak it) your best bet is to go to a few studios and discuss your idea with someone who works there and ask for an estimate. while you're there you can browse through their portfolios and get an idea of whether or not they're the artist you want (and whether or not the place is clean.)

My friend has a heart tattoo on her wrist of a heart like the mom one ?
Only with her name in the place of MOM

Wrist tattoo ideas please:)?

Q. I have ugly scars on my wrists..long story short :I'm 17 and I use to cut ,since I was 12.
I'm getting a black cross on one side...what should I get on the other side?(:

Answer
Sweetheart, I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but it needs to be said. I was there, too; girls were so cruel to me and there never was a guy to even look at me. My parents were abusive and I made them mad at me so they'd leave my brother alone. I felt worthless. I cut and tried to kill myself repeatedly, almost succeeding the last time.

But just know, the second you leave high school life gets instantly better. That drama dissipates and you're free to leave home if that's where the problem exists. I'm married, pregnant, have an amazing job, and happier than I've ever been in my life.

At seventeen you're life is only just beginning. Tattoos on your wrists can end it awfully quickly. No one in the professional world will hire a person with visible tattoos such as the wrists. To cover the scars, invest in Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. It worked wonders for me.

And get the cross somewhere else; I got a phoenix on the side of my ribs, right next to my heart. Consider placing the cross there.

Blessings and Love to you and yours.

Reasonable tattoo ideas?

Collin

Hey I am going to be turning 18 soon, and am fairly muscled. Some friends of mine (boys and girls) said that I would look good in a tattoo. I was wondering if anyone new some good traditional designs, or half sleeve designs (I think that's what they are called. It's where there is a sleeve tattoo only on your upper arm.) I don't want any of those stupid forehead tattoos. Upper-back and arm tattoos are mostly what I am looking for. At one point I thought subdermal implants would bee cool like a very small star on my wrist, until I looked up on YouTube how they do them haha. Tattoos that would fit me are intense ones, ones that have music (guitar), or artistic and complex designs, even traditional designs. I also have one last question. I have been doing a lot of research and watching many tattooing videos, and noticed that there is substantial bleeding when the tattoo artist uss his first tool. I am not worried about pain, just curious if there are two items a tattoo artist uses. Lastly do tattoo artists generally let you go in and inspect where they will work their art in advance, as well as their portfolio? I really don't want to end up with a turd on my arm...

Thank you so much
I would also like a pain level on area from 1-10 like I heard that your sides and side/middle abdominal hurt. I heard it hurts even more when you have visible abdomens.

Answer
Ah, the 'I just turned 18!' tat. I've got one myself and, granted, what I'm about to tell you will sound kind of hypocritical, but whatever you choose to get, START SMALL. A week after my 18th birthday I trotted down to my local tattoo shop and got a HUGE chest piece done. Set me back over $500 (come to find out, the place is a rip, however, their work is VERY good) Now that I'm a bit older and would like like more tats, the only thing I regret about what I have (stars swirled in the electro-magnetic spectrum across my chest) is the placement and how big it is. Now, when I consider adding to it, my new artist (actually, a friend of mine who just happens to tattoo) and I have to compromise.

That being said, do whatever feels right.
1. When checking out an artist or shop, have a look at the artist's portfolio and if you're not feeling *super* unique, check out the flash wall. No shame in that and a lot of reputable shops will actually customize the flash art to your liking. Obviously, you're going to check out how clean the place is and how reasonable their prices are, right? Of course. I just got a large puzzle piece, fully colored, across my whole foot for $60. Take that as a reference. The more detail and colors used, the more the tattoo will cost. No shame in comparing shops and artists either. Be patient and find what works for you.

2. Placement- Chest? Walk in the park for me. A lot of people would agree. IF IT IS CLOSE TO THE HEART, THE HEALING PROCESS TENDS TO BE EASIER AND LESS PAINFUL. However, the FURTHER AWAY from the heart, the more intense the pain (especially afterward, if you're a 'bigger' person) during and after, due to circulation. These places (like my foot) have a tendency to heal slower and be prone to infection. FEET, SIDES, UNDERARMS (bicep or forearm, underneath it) ARE TENDER. These areas, to most people HURT. My chest TICKLED compared to my foot.

3. So if you're looking for the 'No pain' zones, try to get something on your bicep or any muscle-y area. For your first tattoo, avoid doing large pieces (think things out a bit, if you want sleeves, you don't want a gigantic piece on your bicep that's going to mess up your sleeve later.) AND, BUY A BOTTLE OF BACTINE (OR STOREBRAND.) Should have Lidocaine in it. Some shops carry it and will either charge you for it or only spray you once if you're hurting. No shame in pain. If you're squirming, that just makes things hard on them, so it's best to bring your own. Spray the area down every 20 mins or so. This won't mess anything up, and I admittedly did it for my foot.

4. As for designs, other than what I said about flash art and checking portfolios, if you find an ACTUAL TATTOO ARTIST (and honestly, you don't want someone who just stencils), they can draw out anything you can dream up. Think of things you know you will never change you mind about. Stars, in my case, are never going to be something I'm going to regret in the future. They're damn stars. Hah. And YES, IF THEY DON'T LET YOU CALL OR COME IN TO INSPECT, DON'T GO THERE. No shop should have anything to hide.

Good luck! I hope to see some awesome work in the future on you and if you have any other tattoo questions, feel free to message me.

im getting a tattoo with my twins initials in?

Twins mum

i was thinking maybe some stars i have a boy & girl are there any websites that let you design the tattoo and put in the names thanks

Answer
I don't know of any websites that will allow you to do that... TBH, the idea of an original tattoo would to not have one like anyone else. A website would have 'carbon copy' tattoos. My suggestion would be to call around to local tattoo artists, and give them your ideas on the size, location, colors, initials, and what you want it to look like. They'll draw up something and see if you like it. You can tell them if you want to make changes, and they will alter it. When you are satisfied they will quote you on a price, and tattoo it.

Girls what do you think?

Kuntry_Bam

So, I have this tattoo idea and I thought about this tattoo long and hard. I have been through a lot and i'm always been for peace and love. I wanted something on body with meaning that represent who i am and what i stand for. I didn't want a copy tattoo idea but something unique so I found a quote by Walt Whiteman - ''Peace Is Always Beautiful'' I love it, and I wanted it across my chest with also something like this at the end, so the tattoo with have some extra. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=A0PDoX2M5q5R5F8AZWWJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTBlMTQ4cGxyBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1n?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3F_adv_prop%3Dimage%26va%3Dheart%2Bpeace%26fr%3Dyfp-t-900%26tab%3Dorganic%26ri%3D3&w=550&h=495&imgurl=www.freetattoodesigns.org%2Fimages%2Ftattoo-gallery%2Fheart-peace-tattoo-design.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freetattoodesigns.org%2Fpeace-sign-tattoos.html&size=49KB&name=%3Cb%3EHeart+peace+%3C%2Fb%3Etattoo+design&p=heart+peace&oid=e7fb8078015371230d4496d8d8b62181&fr2=&fr=yfp-t-900&tt=%3Cb%3EHeart+peace+%3C%2Fb%3Etattoo+design&b=0&ni=105&no=3&ts=&tab=organic&sigr=11odmnovp&sigb=139j991cn&sigi=12d4bpju1&.crumb=n81x.Ro/zPP&fr=yfp-t-900

I agree with Linden Rose... I don't really like chest tattoos... sorry! lol but I think it's a cool design, but to be completely honest, it's a little girly... Not saying you shouldn't get it, just letting u know that's the vibe I got from it. But hey! It's ur tattoo its gonna be on ur body... Who cares what anyone else thinks?

What do you think of this tattoo/the placement?

Juliet

I really love tattoos and I think they're beautiful (when done well), and I couldn't think of one to get for the longest time. So I also really love this band, Bayside. They have this bird symbol, http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ls1dw2RbAK1qgabxbo1_500.jpg, and a lot of people have gotten it tattooed on them, so it's not unique or anything, it's more unifying. I've drawn it on my wrist with sharpie and I've kept it there for almost a month now (not comparable to a lifetime, I know), and I still really like it.
Here are some pictures of it "posed" and "natural"
http://imgur.com/a/89tJI
Obviously it would be more crisp, less chunky, and a bit lower if I got it actually tattooed.
It's not only about the band, even though I've loved them for a long time now. That's what I kind of like about it, actually. I really like the symbol by itself, so it wouldn't only apply to the band.
What do you think about it? Is it cool-looking?
What about the wrist placement? I know places won't do this sometimes because employers might not like it. I really like it there, and now I think my wrist looks kind of naked without it.
Any and all feedback is awesome, thank you!

Answer
I actually know two people with the Bayside bird (:
One has it on her wrist and it looks MUCH better when it is smaller than it is in that picture. Too much dark black ink in a small space looks muddy.
And another girl has it on her right lower hip and it looks pretty cool.
If you want it and you want everyone else to always be able to see it, go for the wrist. If it is more of a personal thing for you to see and other's to see sometimes, go for the hip.

But honestly, for a first tattoo I would do the hip. That way if you don't like it in five years you don't have to see it every time you wear a short sleeved shirt or look down at your wrist.

Love the bird, love the meaning, love the band.

Ive already got one on my upper back in between my shoulders. So any ideas??? im not putting it on my breast. Thnx! :)

Answer
A girl always look cute with a tattoo on her waist or her foot:)

Tattoo ideas?? :) (chest tattoo girl)?

Ashley Amb

So, I want to get a chest tattoo. I'm a girl. (I know it's not really a chest tattoo, it's going to be above my breasts) and I want a saying... I don't know what saying though. If you could, please help me come up with a saying that is short and sweet and is about love. (Ex. Chris drews chest tattoo of "love is the weapon") I don't want those words exactly, but something along those lines.

Oh, and what do you think of getting "love you, mom" and "love you, dad" on the inside of my palms in their handwriting? Thank you! 10 pts for best answer :)

Answer
Ghastly. Really, really ghastly. Deeds are more powerful than words.
If you really think love is the most important thing, spend the money on someone that needs it, not on a self indulgent slogan shouting to the world what a 'loving' person you are.
It doesn't mean anything, just 'uglies up' your body and destroys your femininity.

Inside of Wrist Tattoo, pain, cost, and smudging?

opera_frea

I'm going to get a tattoo on the inside of my wrist (I think, unless I find a better spot) because I don't want it on my back, because I'm in theatre, and I need to be able to cover it easily, but I'm a little concerned about some things:

1) I'm okay with most painful things, but how much will this hurt? I've heard that if you take a rubberband and snap it on your wrist, or stick your fingernail in your skin until it hurts and both are a kinda equivalent to what it feels like.

2) Cost? Anyone? :)

3) And I'm a little conserned about smuding after time. I mean, I don't want to get it now (I'm about to turn 19) and then in like two years have it be smudged and unable to see what it is clearly.

I designed this myself, (I do it for an extra income now actually) and I want it to remain as special to me in twenty years as it was the day that I got it.

Thank so much guys!

Kat

Here's a picture of it!

Answer
That actually a really cool design I love that super awesome work!

I want my childrens names on my wrists too. I have a tattoo on my foot (hawaiian flowers and vines) that covers the ENTIRE foot! I was talking to the girl who did it for me while she was doing it and I asked about the wrist because she had one on the foot and the wrist as well as many other places I liked. She said that pain wise a lot of people consider the foot to be way more painful than the wrist and that wasn't too bad. Ask around and find a great tattoo artist that uses lanicane(sp?) it numbs the area completely. It's a miracle worker. The only problem with that is that it cant work until the skin is open so it will hurt for a little bit still! It's in the top three most painful from what I've heard. She said that the ribs, feet and wrists are horrible because it's right on the bone (imagine feeling intense burning sensations on top of a piercing vibration on your bones). Don't be too concerned though it's totally worth it the pain doesn't out weigh the benefits at all! Too be quite honest I have two now and I think the healing part is way more painful than the actual tattoo process. My foot was really swollen and I couldn't walk on it after a few days b/c I couldn't wear shoes (can we say infection? lol) but the nagging pain of the heeling and itching got to me way more than the tattooing actually did.

On the price it depends on the size. I thought mine would total over $300 for all the different colors and shading and she only charged me $150 for the whole thing. Also depends on who you go to. More in demand artists can charge more. Some charge by size and amount of ink/details and some people charge just by the hour. I would ask around look at all the work and judge the talent to the prices and pick your perfect artist from there.

I've heard a lot about a holographic type of thing happening with certain areas but I have never actual seen anyone with a wrist tattoo that has had this happen and I know A LOT of people who have this done who range in age. Although I do have one spot on my foot in the outline that looks like it ran a little. That's more the way it heals and the way you take care of it. I have mine down my big toe and up to my ankle from there so I couldn't even wear a flip flop on that foot b/c I was too afraid of rubbing. I felt like a dork but thought I was doing the right thing. It ended up infected and swollen and scabbed (not pretty I know sorry :s) and that's the spot I see the smudging in. If you take great care of it and follow your artists instructions to the T you should be fine.

Hope that answered all of your questions!!!!

im thinking about a zodiac (scorpio) tattoo on my inner wrist?

BOOM BOOM

here's the inspiration:

http://tattoos-and-art.com/wp-content/gallery/scorpio-tattoos/star-sign-scorpio-tattoo-41835.jpg

i wouldn't get the flower designs along with it, just the "M" letter that would be small enough to fit on my left inner wrist. what do you think? is it too uncreative or a typical girl tattoo? is the wrist a good place to get it?

Any tattoo ideas for a girl?

Amyy

I'm looking into getting a tattoo, it's just going to be a small blue star on my wrist. But I wanted to put a word or phrase or quote on the star or something. any ideas?

Answer
I honestly think you should wait until you have something meaningful to get a tattoo. Since it's permanent, it should be something you really want, not just something a stranger suggested.

I just know I wouldn't want something like a random quote on my body forever.

Ideas/quotes for a tattoo?

I want a word tattoo that is meaningful. I like the words "Live hard, die fast." But that is quite negative!

Designing own tattoo... Need help?

Ginger Sna

So I'm designing my own tattoo and so far I've got this pin-up girl on her knees with her hands behind her head and I need some idea that could cover up the 'female parts'
But I want her not to have any clothes on, if that makes sense?
So what should I do?
Fire away guys ^-^

Answer
Pick something you like, for example i saw this picture of a girl laying on her back she was naked but she had video game controllers, consoles, handhelds, and other video game products around her and it didn't look smutty or anything it ended up looking really cool so i would think of things you like and find away to work that in

what is some nice tattoo designs?

for couples in love.something small but unique?but nothing with our names?

Answer
I don't suggest doing this. What if you broke up, then you would have it forever as a memory and you would have to explain it to your next other.

If you really must I think a key and a heart shaped lock would be cute. Or if you have characters you like from a game or book, I knew people who had Mario and the Princess. (the guy had mario and the girl princess if it was unclear) Either way, I don't think it's the smartest thing in the world.

cute tattoos for a girl know any?

dEE BXtCH;

okay so i want to get my thigh are armed sleeved know of any cute ones? post a link? im really in to roses are something Los angles something really nice? maybe drawing are something thanks!
i pay attention ! go get a life i dontwannaa know your opinion ! so yeahh Uhh cough cough haters over the internet ?? but other then that to everyone else thank you!

Answer
No tattoos are cute. None. They are all ugly and hideous. Tattoos are little better than cartoons at best.

You asked: "okay so i want to get my thigh are armed sleeved know of any cute ones?"?? Wow, I could barely understand that part of your question. You should pay more attention in English class, OK? Writing well is a skill that you can benefit from all your life.

But, I think..... you want to get a tattoo on your thigh??? OMG I hope you do not! If you make that big mistake and you get one, you will experience a lot of pain and you will bleed. You will not be in a hospital or operating room, and there is a chance you will catch some vile blood-born disease like hepatitis or flesh eating bacteria. Your wound may become infected. The so-called "tattoo artist" may make a mistake and you will be stuck with the results. I strongly recommend you reconsider getting tattooed. Your body is clean now, and not profaned by any graffiti, but that will change forever if you pay some tattoo predator to ruin your body. Just don't do it is my advice to you! You have lasted this long without tattoo, do not cave to the pressure from lesser people or a sick society and take that fatal step. Everything will change for you, for the worse, after you get that first tattoo.. Let me tell you why I am so anti-tattoo and so anxious that you not take this ugly step. The true cost of a tattoo is a lifetime of regret. There is an 80% chance you will regret it in your lifetime. Many people will look at you with disgust, for tattoos are offensive to many, many people. Your chances of getting a good job will be greatly diminishedâmost companies will not hire you since your tattoo will be seen as offensive to other workers. There is nothing good about a tattoo. A tattoo is little better than a cartoonâyou canât get a good quality drawing on the human skin. Tattoos are an urban blight. They are ugly, like graffiti. Like graffiti, they lower the quality of the environment. Tattoos lower the quality of life, for everyone who has to see their ugliness. I donât like the whole concept of tattooing, the way these hideous cartoons are inked into the flesh of people through bloodletting and pain; to me they are a dark and evil art. Tattoos are closely linked to other forms of self harm, like cutting, piercing, drug use, etc.; they are hand-in-glove with these destructive behaviors. I donât like the way evil people encourage our vulnerable children to get tattooed, so they can make money off of them. They do not care that they are causing harm. And yet, these evil ones, these tattoo predators, are even admired by their deceived victims. Young people are fooled into wanting tattoos by degenerate Hollywood and the media. Kids think tattoos are cool and cutting edge, but over time, they wind up hating their tattoos. Far worse, they wind up hating themselves. Parents and older people are so afraid of being disliked that they say nothing against tattoos, even though they know better. Worse, some completely abandon their responsibility to provide sound guidance and even encourage the young ones to get tattooed. As far as tattoos being âartâ, that is garbage. A tattoo is NOT "a work of art". The human body is not a canvas and the abusers and mutilators who desecrate it are not artists. Most of their so called "art" is little better than comic book drawings. . More and more young people are buying into this Hollywood lie that tattoos are a cutting edge way to âexpressâ yourself. But that is so not true. You should express yourself with your words and actions, not by inking graffiti onto your living flesh. I have no tattoos. I hate tattoos and those who inflict them upon our young people. Do not listen to the many predators and enablers here, who encourage young people to abandon decency and live self indulgent and destructive lives. Young peopleâdo not get tattooed. Stay in school, do your best there, avoid drinking, drugs, tattoos and piercings, and avoid those who have them. Go to college, study science, mathematics, or business, and avoid liberal arts (unless you are wealthy and donât need to make a living). God bless you in your life.

Girls with tattoo sleeves..cute or trashy?

Kristen

I am thinking about getting like a short tattoo sleeve so that I could still cover it up at work. I think they are really cute on some girls. Not quite convinced if it's a good idea or not though. What are your thoughts?

Answer
Hmmmm I am a tattoo artist, covered and have a sleeve, so my opinion on this WILL be biased :)

However, it's not about what OTHERS think. It's how you feel. If you want it done then get it. You can't dress tattoos. You make them a part of you, they are NOT what you're all about.

My tattoos are my designs, my creativity, my personality and my passion all displayed on my body. However, I wear them with pride and do not give a gerbils what anyone thinks. I did them for ME not the rest of the population who don't know me and have never met me. They have absolutely no influence on my life and the people who DO know me, love and appreciate me for who I am and not the artwork on my body!

Anyway, i believe that ANYONE can "Pull off," a sleeve or any other tattoo if they wear it with confidence and pride. If you're going to be hiding it because you're ashamed or worried of what others think, then maybe it's best you don't do it until you're 100% certain (^_^)

I know one thing, as someone who appreciates all different types of beauty, I personally love them, but they're not for everyone!

Do what you want and let nothing get in the way of that. Are these random people going to be in your life down the long road it leads?!

Good luck :)

Why are lower back tattoos so popular?

Adam

I see so many people getting them, and it doesnt really make any sense. I mean, alot of the people getting them just walk into parlors, pick a design on the spot, and "think" they will like it forever. And why not something on the mid or upper back? Seems like most lower back tattoos are sexual in nature because of the inverted pyramid many of them form.

I appreciate body art, but not if its drawn in a sexual way, and not if its a fad that wasnt thought out before it was done.

When I ask someone why they did something as permanent as a tattoo and they dont have any reason and just say "idk, I wanted to I guess" it simply baffels me.

Could someone please explain their popularity, why so many tattoos are not thought out and dont symbolize anything, and why so many of them seem to be mildly sexual in nature? (i.e. the upside down triangle so many of the lower back tattoos resemble?)
Oh. and why is it that it is essentially only women who get this kind?

Answer
i don't think that lower back tattoos are any more popular on girls than bicep tattoos are for guys. and it seems like most bicep tattoos are meant to show off a guys muscles and make him look like a meathead. i guess if a bicep tattoo is one in an artful way it is okay but all of those ones that are meant to accentuate the muscles are just dumb. i mean, why do they get them? (see how that can be turned around?)

if i were you i just wouldn't worry about what other people do with their bodies unless it directly affects you. and in the case of lower back tattoos i don't see how it really does. what does it matter if the tattoos are of a sexual nature or whatever? nobody is forcing you to get anything you don't want to get.

how about reserving your judgements for other things? everybody does the things they do for a reason and it's really not any of your business why they do it unless they chose to tell you but since you are so narrow minded i don't see why they would be inclined to try to hold an intelligent conversation with you.
just this tattooed girl's opinion.

Anyone has some really cool lower back butterfly tattoo designs?

Q. imma going to get one for my lower back. anyone has any recommendations or tips? i saw some but they don't look very good. high quality is impt so i can print immedtely...

Answer
Yeah I can understand the importance of having high quality tattoo designs. You can print them out right? You're smart girl. ;)

Lower back for a butterfly is just plain awesome. You SHOULD get it because I have it as well.

Expose it in the hot sun at a beach. You'll get the guys staring. No sheet lol.

But make sure you get one that's of DECENT style.

Here are some that I like. The 3rd one's my favourite :))

TATTOO DESIGN HELP! 10 points best answer!!!!?

ibrene2

I am a petite girl and I am looking to get a tattoo on my hip. I know that i want hearts gradually getting bigger as they go up. I want no more than three and I want it to be flowy, dainty, & girly. I don't want anything too big because I am a tiny girl in size. If anyone can design one for me it would help out ALOTTTT! thanks :)

Answer
You'd be better off going to the tattoo artist who is going to do it. They are professionals and part of their job is to design the tattoos; so they have experience are good with translating ideas onto paper and they know what will look best depending on where you get it. Some spots of your body don't look good with flat designs so you need more of a 3D kind of design or something with motion.

Cute Tattoo ideas :)?

Cheer1025

My mom and i are going to get tattoos soon and im not sure what im going to get yet. Im 17 and a cheerleader i lovee stArs and hearts i want to get something smallish but sexy probably on my hip. Any ideas? Pics would be great :)
Or possiy on my shoulder

Answer
First of all, keep in mind that even today in our "modern" "liberated" 21st century, people are still negatively judged for having tattoos. That's obvious here by the people that refer to a lower back tattoo, (those ones on your hips that show above your pants) as a "tramp stamp" . If you get a tattoo in a place where it is almost impossible to cover up, such as your wrist, people will always be able to see it and may judge you negatively by it. I know, people that love tatts will say in response to that "I don't care what people think". Well to that, I will say that you WILL care when that person that's judging you is someone who you are trying to get a job from! There are plenty of places that you will have trouble getting a job at if you have a tattoo that shows. And even with that aside, if this is your first tattoo, you may not like it being on your wrist later on in life. I would highly suggest NOT getting a wrist tattoo. If you just can't help yourself and really want one anyway, wait till you have several tattoos and are a bit more experienced with it to make that decision.

A belly tattoo will get stretched out of shape from if you ever experience pregnancy. Although a belly tattoo sounds sexy when you're still young and skinny, a tattoo on the belly can sometimes end up looking downright awful later on. So if you want one there, keep this in consideration and decide whether you can live with that risk or not.

If this is your first tattoo, I would HIGHLY suggest you get a small, simple one in a place that's easy to hide. A lot of girls like to get their first tattoo on their ankle or top of their foot somewhere. That is easy to cover up with socks, and if you wear open shoes where it shows, it usually doesn't look bad, and even looks cute and sexy there, small and quaint. Sometimes less is more.

Another place that's easy to hide is your back. I got my first tattoo on my back between my shoulder blades, it is just a simple black outline of a kitty cat, about the size of a small piece of fruit, like a lime or an apricot. Sometimes it shows if I wear a top that is lower in the back, like a cami, but it actually looks good that way because my tatt is simple and not really "flashy". Another benefit of getting it on your back is that if you keep having doubts about your tattoo after getting it, well then it's not "in your face" all the time cuz looking at your back is not something you do all that often, really. I have several on my back that have been there for years, and even today sometimes I'll be drying myself off from a shower and I'll catch a glimpse of them in the mirror and think "Oh yeah, that's right. I have tattoos there".

Dont get a tattoo just because it's trendy or popular. Do it for YOU, and pick a design that means something to YOU and you only. Artists always have lots of pictures to choose from, but what's better is if you draw or make your own, then it really is a unique one of a kind tattoo just for you. Pick something that's not likely to change over time, such as your zodiac symbol, a favorite animal or flower, or a religious symbol are some good ideas. Spend a LONG time thinking about it before you make a committment (6 months to a year is not too long. Even more is better, really). And the GOLDEN RULE of tattoos is NEVER EVER EVER tattoo someone else's name on you! The only exception to this is sometimes people tattoo their children's names on themselves.

Sorry this is so long, but you sounded like you needed some good advice and I hate to see young people make mistakes with tattoos just because they didn't know any better. My younger sister got a tattoo of someone's name in chinese characters on her wrist. Several years later she wasn't with that person anymore and had an artist cover it up with a drawing of her favorite animal, a lizard. But the old chinese characters still sortof show thru the new tattoo if you look at it carefully.

Good luck, I hope I've taught you something, and hope you pick out a really special tattoo that you'll enjoy all your life and never regret.

Whats up with girls getting feet/ankle tattoos?

Nathan

It looks retarded. Sorry, but it looks so tacky, especially if its like a flower or a butterfly. I saw this one girl with a damn unicorn tatted on her ankle. My recommendation? Get no tattoos on your lower body, that area (Belly Button & Downwards) is "sacred" to us men. The best place is honestly the back or inside of arm, not a tramp stamp, but something cool on the back, nowhere else.

Answer
im not too big on feet tattoos or ankle tattoos unless they are big full leg pieces. everyone has their own opinion on tattoos. i absolutely love big tattoos and have a quarter sleeve on both of my forearms. you obviously don't care for most tattoos.

John 8:12 means I am trhe light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

Tattoo cover up designs?

Q. About a year ago I was using meth and coke and thought it would be an amazing idea to go out and get a tattoo of an under water scene. But since I was a druggy never really thought it through and its really F'ed up. Here are some pics just. http://tinypic.com/r/i7515i/7 http://tinypic.com/r/2hqt0gm/7 http://tinypic.com/r/1ypchu/7

Just wondering if anyone can draw something up that could cover it and email it over to me. I was looking at getting a Koi or a Dragon half sleeve. Or just some advice would do for how to go about getting it covered up. thanks...
NV sure but I live in FL..thanks anyways.

Answer
personally, i'd find what artist i wanted to go to first and go talk to them about it. i wouldn't cover anything. i'd turn that into a whole sleeve, add the coy like you want and redo whats already there to make it all fit together and look new again. you'd be surprised how much new life can be brought to a tattoo like that.

Samoa
When the Samoan Islands were first seen by Europeans in 1722 three Dutch ships commanded by Jacob Roggewein visited the eastern island known as Manua. A crew member of one of the ships described the natives in these words, âThey are friendly in their speech and courteous in their behavior, with no apparent trace of wildness or savagery. They do not paint themselves, as do the natives of some other islands, but on the lower part of the body they wear artfully woven silk tights or knee breeches. They are altogether the most charming and polite natives we have seen in all of the South Seasâ¦"

The ships lay at anchor off the islands for several days, but the crews did not venture ashore and didnât even get close enough to the natives to realize that they were not wearing silk leggings, but their legs were completely covered in tattoos.

In Samoa, the tradition of applying tattoo, or tatau, by hand has been unbroken for over two thousand years. Tools and techniques have changed little. The skill is often passed from father to son, each tattoo artist, or tufuga, learning the craft over many years of serving as his father's apprentice. A young artist-in-training often spent hours, and sometimes days, tapping designs into sand or tree bark using a special tattooing comb, or au. Honoring their tradition, Samoan tattoo artists made this tool from sharpened boar's teeth fastened together with a portion of the turtle shell and to a wooden handle.

Traditional Samoan tattooing of the âpe'aâ, body tattoo, is an ordeal that is not lightly undergone. It takes many weeks to complete. The process is very painful and used to be a necessary prerequisite to receiving a matai title; this however is no longer the case. Tattooing was also a very costly procedure.

It was not uncommon for half a dozen boys to be tattooed at the same time, requiring the services of four or more artists. It was not just the men who received tattoos, but the women too; their designs are of a much lighter nature rather than having the large areas of solid dye which are frequently seen in menâs tattoos. The tattooing of women was not nearly as ritualized like menâs were.

Samoan society has long been defined by rank and title, with chiefs (ali'i) and their assistants, known as talking chiefs (tulafale). The tattooing ceremonies for young chiefs, typically conducted at the time of puberty, were part of their ascendance to a leadership role. The permanent marks left by the tattoo artists would forever celebrate their endurance and dedication to cultural traditions. The pain was extreme and the risk of death by infection was a concern; to back down from tattooing was to risk being labeled a âpala'aiâ or coward. Those who could not endure the pain and abandoned their tattooing were left incomplete, would be forced to wear their mark of shame throughout their life. This would forever bring shame upon their family so it was avoided at all cost.

The Samoan tattooing process used a number of tools which remained almost unchanged since their first use. âAutapuluâ is a wide tattooing comb used to fill in the large dark areas of the tattoo. âAusogi'aso teleâ is a comb used for making thick lines. âAusogi'aso laititiâ is a comb used for making thin lines. âAumogoâ small comb is used for making small marks. âSausauâ is the mallet is used for striking the combs. It is almost two feet in length and made from the central rib of a coconut palm leaf. âTulumaâ is the pot used for holding the tattooing combs. Ipulama is the cup used for holding the dye. The dye is made from the soot collected from burnt lama nuts. âTu'Iâ used to grind up the dye. These tools were primarily made out of animal bones to ensure sharpness.

The tattooing process itself would be 5 sessions, in theory. These 5 sessions would be spread out over 10 days in order for the inflammation to subside. The steps are as follows.

I. O le Taga Tapulu (back and small of the back) In the first session the height to which the tattoo will rise is decided (Ano le Tua), this is always such that the top of the design will show above the lavalava. Then the va'a, pula tama and pula tele are outlined and the design filled in.

II. O le Taga Fai'aso (the posterior) The aso fa'aifo are completed around to the abdomen and the 'asolaititi are finished. Next to be added are the saemutu, which vary in number depending upon social status. A matai will have four an orator three and anyone else would have two. Where it meets the 'ivimutu at the anus it is called tafaufile, where it covers the perineum it is called tasele, where it covers the scrotum it is called tafumiti and the area over the penis is called tafito. Needless to say this is very painful.

III. Taga Tapau The lausae, an area of solid tattooing, is added to the thighs beneath the aso e lua.

IV. Taga o Fusi ma Uluma

What do you think of tattooed girls?

I've been around tattoos my entire life. My dad, uncle, grandfather, & two of my brothers are all heavily tattooed. I've wanted tattoos ever since I was little & my father is supportive as long as I don't get any that are easily visible & could get in the way of getting a job. I've been planning a sleeve from the top of my shoulder to around my elbow. It's a sketch I've been drawing & editing for the last 7 years & it's going to be my 18th birthday present before I head off to college. However, I don't want people to get the wrong idea if they somehow see it.

What do you think when you see a girl that is tattooed? Obviously not a small one, something big like the sleeve I'm planning to get. It's okay to be rude, I just want your honest opinion & your reasoning, if you have any.

Answer
I personally think tattoos on girls are hot, as long as it's strategically placed. Too much tattoo or certian designs make them look manly or dirty. Personally, that sleeve tattoo u're planning doesn't seem a good idea, especially for a girl. What if you need to go to a formal party in the future? U can't wear sleeveless gowns or dresses without looking manly. Usually, the ones that look great on girls are on the the back of the neck, hand, armband or back of the shoulders and the ones that are not overly-colored and do not exceed 3 inches.

Well, it's actually just a matter of preference and your own style. It's still best to get one that suits your personality, because tattoos shouldn't just be accessories but self-expression. The stuff I mentioned above are just tips to consider. Also consider the fact that some employers don't accept inked emploees, like in some hotels, restaurants, planes and ships. So if your dream career is related to those, I suggest you think about it really well.

At the end of the day, it's still up to you. Good luck. :)

Girls: would you ever get your makeup tattooed on?

take me to

My grandma has her lip liner tattooed on and my friend's mom has her eyeliner tattooed on.
BQ: if you couldve written any book published what would it be?
LOL yeah ik my grandma is a little....odd xD
I would never get it done either cuz I'm afraid ad it really wouldn't make doing makeup all that much easier.
You have to get it re-done every few years so it's not super permanent.

Answer
"My grandma has her lip liner tattooed on" <--- That really just made my day! Haha. :)

No, and probably because I don't wear makeup. But I do want a little star beside my eye, maybe two of them. Who knows?

*I don't know what I would write about.

Google: Tattoo Inks Pose Health Risks
http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm316357.htm?source=govdelivery
A good read: The Hidden Dangers of Getting Inked. http://blogs.cdc.gov/publichealthmatters/2012/08/the-hidden-dangers-of-getting-inked/
Or TEMPORARY Tattoos May put you @ risk.
http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm343932.htm

If you don't think you'll get an allergic reactions to the ink, the FDA have gotten reports from people who have, and I have read it several times on YA TATTOOS.

Some tattoo colors are harder to remove than others. Laser treatments can turn some tattoos darker instead of lighter, or change them to a different color. The same goes for "permanent makeup," which is a kind of tattoo. It depends on what ingredients went into the tattoo ink to produce the color.

But it can be hard to find out what's in tattoo inks because they usually don't have ingredients listed on the label. Very often, even the tattooist doesn't know what's in the tattoo ink because the company that made it considers the formula "proprietary" (pro-pry-uh-tar-ee). That means it's a trade secret.

Here are some more facts about tattoos:
â¢FDA has not approved any color additives for injection into your skin.
â¢People who get a tattoo should not give blood for a year afterward because of the chance of infection.
â¢Although it happens only very rarely, some people may have an allergic reaction to the dyes used for tattooing. Imagine being allergic to something that's been injected into your skin.
â¢Or, the tattooist may make a mistake. Who wants to wear someone else's mistake forever?

Speaking of forever, how often do you change your mind about your hair, your earrings, or the clothes you like to wear? It's not so easy when you change your mind about a tattoo.

Although many "temporary tattoos" are legal, some -- especially some of those imported from other countries -- are illegal in the United States because they use color additives that are not approved for use on the skin. FDA has had reports of people having allergic reactions to temporary tattoos.

What about henna temporary tattoos? Henna is a brown to reddish brown dye made from a plant. It is approved only for use on the hair, not the skin. If it is black, or any other color besides brown or reddish brown, it contains other ingredients. It also may contain other ingredients to make the stain darker, make the skin absorb the color more easily, or make the stain last longer.

Could these ingredients hurt you? It depends. Individuals are different and may be sensitive to different things. If you don't know what the ingredients are, it's impossible to tell what they might do if you put them on your skin.
http://www.webmd.com/fda/think-before-you-ink-are-tattoos-safe
According to a poll conducted in January 2012 by pollster Harris Interactive, 1 in 8 (14%) of the 21% of American adults who have tattoos regret getting one. And the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) reports that in 2011, its doctors performed nearly 100,000 tattoo removal procedures, up from the 86,000 performed in 2010.
Unfortunately, removing a tattoo is not as simple as changing your mind.
Artists create tattoos by using an electrically powered machine that moves a needle up and down to inject ink into the skin, penetrating the epidermis, or outer layer, and depositing a drop of ink into the dermis, the second layer. The cells of the dermis are more stable compared with those of the epidermis, so the ink will mostly stay in place for a personâs lifetime. Tattoos are meant to be permanent.
An effective and safe way to remove tattoos is through laser surgery, performed by a dermatologist who specializes in tattoo removal, says FDA's Mehmet Kosoglu, who reviews applications for marketing clearances of laser-devices.

how many tattoos do you have?

Answer
I have been under the "gun" thirteen times. My Tattoos are all of Native and tribal design. They usually shock most people because of there size and design. People usually expect a girl to have little flowers, butterflies etc. My smallest one took an hour and the largest took 8 (done in one sitting) Ink on people!

Good tattoo idea Yo ?

Max

I'm a male and I'm turning 18 in a month and I want to get a tattoo...but I have no idea of what I want. Would be a great help if someone give a an idea, maybe something to be with the fact I'm turning 18 or something like that. Peace

Answer
Your First Tattoo should be small to medium size at first in a place that you can cover with pants or a shirt if you don't know what you want already (this way it can be Hidden for employment or whatnot). It should also not be in Color since some people Decide after they get a Color Tattoo, that they should have stuck with only Black and White, and the Color tattoo is the one they don't like the most. No Color, unless it's something your absolutely sure you want, not a impulsive Decision. Many Shops Have Hundreds of Designs in books when you get ther you can flip through (I assume this is a rite of Passage type thing), so don't get any writing, or anything that represents your age, when you are older you may regret it, wait until you are sure what you want for Tattoo's like That. My buddy and I ditched school when I turned Eighteen and both got Tattoos that day, no Idea what we wanted, but all the High school girls back then dug guys with Tattoos. My buddy got a Scorpion about 4" big in Black and White, he was Mexican/Native American so it fit him well. I got a 4" tall picture of "Marvin the Martian" from Looney tunes shooting a Ray Gun in Black and White, we were in L.A. County. We both Decided on our Right Upper arm. Now I have 14 Tattoos, and want 3 More in U.V. Ink (Shows up in Black light, with a lightly visible outline (Scar like) in all other light. I am an Ex-Paratrooper, so my Social Security Number Means alot to me, so I want to get it (in U.V. Ink) in Barcode form on the Back of my neck, also in U.V., on the Back of my Hands I want to get an Oroboros (U.V., Left Hand, Dragon eating it's own tail represents Reincarnation and the Circle/Cycle of Life), and a Hong of War(U.V.,Right Hand, Two Head Dragon upright with the two heads Fighting/Facing Each other, represents War, and to me the last 10+ years of "Holy" War, From Ghangis Kongs day back in Mongolia and China). I am Ordained Taoist and most My Tattoos have Religous meaning, my Left Arm: ForeArm; (Front) Taurus Constelation Mapped out (also on my right, both at wrist level, For the 12 month Zodiac, my Sun sign and Moon sign are the Same), year of the Rabbit (B-Day in Chinese Zodiac Script), Hexagon/Hexagram (Star of David, I am 1/8 Jewish of French Decent) (Back of ForeArm) Egyptian Ankh with infinity Sign in it (sideways 8, or 2 perfect Circles Joined, wrist level), U.S. Army Airborne Wings (with Green/Olive Drab Parachute Conopy) with Black Beret on it (for Rangers, before the Army switched to everyone wearing a Black Beret), Yin and Yang. Upper left: Tribal Arm Band (all the way around, from one side of my pit to the other), Sign of Aries (the 13 sign Zodiac, modern Zodiac, same as on the right also). Upper Back/Low Neck: Star of Lakshmi, Rub el Hizb (Octogram/Octogon, faded a little so take care of yours, espeacially the first week). Right Arm: ForeArm: (Front) Taurus Constelation Mapped, Year of the Dragon (year I was old enough to become a Chief in Judaism, in Chinese Script, I wanted something Dragon Related but not a cheesy Dragon Picture) and a Penticle (5 Pointed Star, 5 elements, earth, Water, Fire, Air, Heart) (Back, otherside) Sacred Heart (burnt almost completely off, years later) on a Sword shaped like a Crucifix (Color). Upper Right Arm: Peace sign in Rose stems (blurred spikes 20 years later) with amererican Stars and Stripes inside, Marvin the Martian (From Looney tunes, "must Destroy the Earth it Disrupts my View of Venus, Where is that P-38 Space Modulator?".), Sign of Aries.

I put the ones on my left because they represent the Loving and nutureing side of Religion, and the ones on my right (i.e., the Right Hand of God) represent the Wrathful side of Religion, except for Marvin, I still like my Marvin though, I have had it 18+ years, and Looney tunes are timeless, and Innocent.

Oh yeah, if you take in your own Design, be sure to make sure the Artist takes into account that when he Copies it, if he uses a photo copier, it will be Mirror imaged (Reversed), so he has to copy it twice, My beret on my Airborne Wings is on reversed, because I didn't notice, and don't be surprised if you have to go in and get touched up after (it's usually free if you go in a week or two after you get it, and get a reciept for proof.

you could go always go the Zodiac route, Besure to read my answer though:
