Good tattoo design for girls?

Derpina

i want to have a tattoo on my soldier. not too big and not too small. i am a girl. I am so confused on what tattoo should i have. last time i liked the peace love music tattoo but i think its too small like when you put an angel or something then it looks little bigger so that looks good but my friend already had an angel tattoo on her soldier. So what can i have?

Answer
First off- If you're going to get a tattoo, You Get What You Pay For.
I cannot stress that enough.
If you go to that tattoo parlor that says TATTOO in big red letters next to K-mart and they offer to do some ink on you for 50 dollars, you're probably not going to get a good tattoo.

So be ready to spend at least $200. (plus tip)

Your artist will fill you in on care, or should anyway.

A peacock would be cute. The tail going down your arm. Maybe some sort of flower that represents you. Like fierce but sensitive- A rose.
Happy but simple- a daisy.

If you're bold and out going, bright warm colors will flatter you!
Shy and passive cool and blueish colors will go good.

I'm getting a tattoo for my 17th birthday(Yes I do know you have to be 18)
And I have no ideas of what to get at all. The idea of choosing something that has to stay with my through my life is daunting.
Ive googled tattoo designs but nothing good comes up. So any ideas?
Im looking for something artistic. Im a girly girl. Nothing too big. Any ideas?
Also would I be able to design my own and hand it in to the tattoo artist?

Answer
Ask yourself why do you feel that you have to get a tattoo, when you have no idea what you want, and you're not sure how you feel about having one for your whole life. What's your hurry? Someone holding a gun to your head?
Really, it is a good rule of thumb, to not get a tattoo, unless you have an image/idea that you thought of yourself, always related to, or just 'knew' that it was right for you. If you have nothing in your head, please don't just grab something, just to do it. There are a lot of other good ideas for your 17th birthday gift.
If you 'just have to do it' .. well my advise would be to go for a flower. (unless you hate them..) but they age well, there is a huge variety or shape, style, color, and size. They can be placed anywhere and go with anything. When you are old, you will still love your flower.
So, now you think, look, search, (if you really want one). Or wait,.. there is no hurry.

Make sure that you find a well established, experienced, licensed artist, and that way you won't be looking for a cover up tattoo, or laser removal within 5 years.
Good luck with your decision.
